You can pause and reactivate your loyalty and referrals programs at any time. In this article, you’ll learn what each status means and how it affects your program and customers.
Note
Pausing your program does not pause billing.
Accessing the Program Activation Setting

In your Yotpo Loyalty admin, go to Settings > General Settings.
At the top of the page, under Account, you’ll see the Active/Paused button.
If your program is paused, a yellow banner will appear at the top of your admin. You can click this banner at any time to reactivate your program.
Active
When your program is active, customers can:
Earn and redeem points and rewards based on your program setup.
Earn referral rewards.
Enter VIP/Loyalty Tiers.
Paused
When your program is paused:
Customers cannot earn or redeem points and rewards.
Referral rewards are no longer granted.
Customers cannot enter or make progress toward VIP/Loyalty Tiers.
What Happens When You Pause Your Program
Customer balances remain unchanged: Points, rewards, and VIP/Loyalty Tiers progress are preserved.
Existing coupons remain valid: Any coupon issued before the program was paused can still be redeemed.
On-site Modules and Rewards Page behavior: Customers can still see your loyalty modules and interact with earning activities, but they will not receive rewards for completed actions.
Note
Pausing your program does not automatically hide on-site modules. To avoid confusion, we strongly recommend deactivating your on-site modules while your program is paused.
Reactivating a Paused Program
There are a few things to keep in mind when turning your program back on:
Your program settings will be saved: All customizations applied before pausing your program will be saved. That means you will not need to re-customize your program after reactivating it.
Triggered emails may be sent: Re-activation can trigger pending email flows. We recommend reviewing your email settings before resuming your program.
