Adding Conditional Content to Emails in Yotpo Email
- DarkLight
Adding conditional content to emails allows you to personalize your messages by showing different elements to different customers based on criteria like demographics or purchase history. This makes your emails more engaging, saves time using one campaign for multiple audiences, and boosts conversion rates.
In this article, you’ll learn how to add conditional content to various email elements, including stripes and blocks.
How it works
You can add conditional content to emails you send in email and multi-message campaigns and flows. You can also customize your email templates, which can then be reused.
Adding conditions is available for the following email elements: stripes, structures, containers, and blocks. The blocks that you can personalize include:
Products
Product Recommendations
Dynamic Products (available for flows only)
Customer Reviews
Loyalty Personalization

Showing content to customers with specific attributes or behavior
You can display conditional content to customers by using personalization tags and custom profile properties as filters. Personalization tags are universal across all brands, while custom profile properties are unique to each brand, meaning each brand has its own set of properties.

To show conditional content to specific customers:

Create condition-based rules to filter your customers:
Add a personalization tag or a custom profile property from the drop-down menu. Each can be used only once. The properties are listed under the Custom section in the menu.
Select an operator, such as 'is,' 'contains,' 'equals,' or 'is greater than,' and enter a value. You can add multiple values, separated by commas.
If you have more than one rule, use the toggle to select whether the element will be displayed if any or all of the conditions are met. Note that you can create up to 10 rules.
Click Save and apply.
After adding conditions to an element, an icon will appear in its top right corner in the Preview. Click the icon to view a summary of the conditions, or to edit or delete them.
Please note:
Conditional content won't be reflected in test emails, so you'll see all the elements of your message.
