Promoted Products help you increase product visibility and drive sales by showcasing selected items directly on your product pages. By highlighting these products, you can capture shoppers’ attention and encourage them to explore more of your catalog, ultimately boosting engagement and conversions.

In this article, you'll learn how to add the Promoted Products section to your store. To learn how to add the Promoted Products block to your review request emails, see Adding Promoted Products to Your Review Emails.

You can choose whether to display the products above the Reviews Widget on your product page or embed Promoted Products as its own widget anywhere on your site.

Good to know

By default, the widget displays three products, but you can choose to display between 1 and 9. On mobile, shoppers see one product at a time. To avoid duplication, products are not promoted on their own product pages.

Yotpo uses AI to recommend products based on your store’s order history and on-site shopper behavior. This helps surface products that shoppers are more likely to purchase.

Before You Start

If you have the legacy Promoted Products widget enabled, make sure to turn it off before setting up the current widget:

  1. In your Yotpo Reviews main menu, go to On-Site Widgets > Promoted Products.

  2. Turn the toggle off.

  3. Click Save Changes.

Requirements

Make sure the products you want to promote fulfill the following:

  • They are not on your blocklist.

  • They are currently in stock.

Setting up Promoted Products

Access the Promoted Products widget editor in Yotpo Reviews by going to On-Site Widgets > Promoted Products.

The editor includes two sections:

  • General settings - Edit the text, font, and colors of your widget. You can also choose if you’d like the widget to appear as part of the Reviews Widget or as a separate widget.

  • Promoted Products - Choose the number of products to promote and whether you’d like to show their price.

Adding the Promoted Products Widget to Your Store

When adding the widget to your site, you can choose one of the following placement options:

  • Above Reviews Widget: If you choose to display Promoted Products above the Reviews Widget, click Save changes.

  • Separate widget: If you’d like to add it as a separate widget, follow the instructions relevant to the eCommerce platform you’re using:

Shopify

Once you have finished customizing your widget and would like to add it to your store:

  1. Click Publish at the top right corner

  2. Click Open Shopify to open your Shopify theme editor.

  3. Add a block or section.

  4. Select and add the Promoted Products Widget.

  5. Click Save.

Other eCommerce platforms

To add the widget to your store:

  1. Click Publish in the top right corner.

  2. Copy the code and paste it where you want it to appear on your store.

If you wish to remove the Promoted Products widget from your site, erase the pasted code from the relevant store files.

Removing the Widget from Your Store

  1. Log into your Yotpo Admin account.

  2. In the left-side menu, go to On-Site Widgets.

  3. Select Promoted Products, then click Edit.

  4. On the Promoted Products Editor page, go to General Settings > Placement.

    • If the placement is set to Separate widget, it means the widget was manually embedded via code. To remove it, delete the corresponding code from your site’s backend.

    • If the placement is set to Above Reviews Widget, switch the setting to Separate widget to remove the Promoted Products widget from the Reviews Widget section.
