    There are several tools Yotpo provides you with to help your store increase reviews and sales. To make the most of Yotpo, learn about some of our features and how to best utilize our service to help Yotpo help you increase your store’s reviews and sales.

    Automatic review request

    The Automatic Review Request email is one of the most effective ways to generate more reviews for your store. Here are some best practices when setting up your Automatic Review Request emails:

    • By default, Automatic Review Request emails are sent 14 days after an order is processed, however, you have the flexibility to adjust delivery timing to account for variables such as shipping time. This ensures that shoppers receive the review request after they receive their product and have been allowed enough time to formulate an opinion of the products and service.
      To define when to send emails following the original order placement date:
      • Enter the number of days in the Send after checkbox or adjust the plus/minus icons on either side.
    • Don’t make the reminder email too long or too short. Customers may not have time to read lengthy emails. Write an Automatic Review Request reminder that is catchy, to the point, and entices your customer to write a review.
    • Create an extra reminder after the initial reminder. Only customers who have not written an original review will receive this second reminder, so you don’t have to worry about spamming your customers with added emails. Just make sure you have at least two weeks between reminders.
    • Yotpo never wants to spam your customers. Your customers can always unsubscribe from our emails at any time through the Automatic Review Request emails if they want to.

    The Reviews Tab

    The Reviews Tab is a standalone tab you can place on any page of your site. Clicking the Reviews Tab will display a lightbox that contains your site and/or product reviews. The Reviews Tab is one of Yotpo's most popular features and serves as a great way to drive traffic to your product pages and increase engagement on your site. There you can also customize the look and feel of your Reviews tab by choosing where it is displayed, the color, and more.

    Targeted emails

    Targeted review request emails allow you to ask a selected list of your customers for a site review request. To access Targeted review requests, go to Emails > Email Setup and select the Targeted reviews requests card.

    Customizing your targeted emails

    To make the most of your targeted messages, we recommend clarifying to your customers that you are asking them to leave a review of your overall shop experience (customer service, shipping speed, etc.) so that customers who have already reviewed a product will be motivated to review your shop as well.

    From theTargeted review requests section of your Yotpo dashboard, you can send yourself a test email to see what the email will appear like to your customers. Please check your Spam/Junk folder if you do not see the email immediately and give it some time to send it to you. The reviews that you receive from the Manual Review Requests will appear in your Reviews Tab and/or Dedicated Reviews page.

    How often can targeted review requests be sent to customers?

    Yotpo never wants to spam your customers with emails. To reduce this, targeted review requests will not be sent to:

    • Customers who received an Automatic Review Request email within the last five days or will receive one in the next five days
    • Customers who received a targeted review request email in the past 30 days
    Please note:
    Customers who have already written a review through a targeted review request email will not receive a request to write another.

    Uploading CSV files

    To upload a CSV file of Yotpo customers, first, export all your reviews by going to Account Settings > Store > Export Reviews

    You will receive a CSV file of all the customers who have left reviews on your site with their email addresses (feel free to delete the columns that are not needed).

    Then, you can customize this file to choose from which customers you want to receive the Manual Review Requests. In addition, you can add other email addresses that you may have as well.

    Please note:

    The format of the CSV file you upload should only consist of two columns:

    • name
    • email address

    The file cannot contain more than 2,500 customers.

    Site review request link

    You can also share a link asking for site reviews on your Facebook page as an extra opportunity to generate site reviews. To view this link, go to Emails > Email Setup and click the Shareable review request links card. 

    When your customers click on the link, they will be led to a landing page with the option to leave a review. Reviewers who review from this landing page will be given a Verified Reviewer badge.
