# Collecting Reviews with Images and Videos

## Goals and Outcomes

Make it easy for customers to submit photos and videos along with their reviews. You can showcase customer-generated photos and videos on your site, social pages, and ads to help build confidence in your brand and drive conversions.

In this article, you will learn how to collect photos and videos from your customers and display them in your store.

## Feature Overview

Use the [review request email](/v1/docs/creating-a-review-request) and [targeted review requests](/v1/docs/about-targeted-review-requests) tto generate review content and collect photos and videos. Customers can also upload media directly through the Reviews Widget.

When submitting a review, customers will have the option to add photos or videos.

You can then [moderate reviews and Q&A](/v1/docs/moderating-reviews) to select the photos you want to publish.

The published [customer photos](https://www.yotpo.com/blog/2016/05/28/customer-photos-carousel/) only appear in the [Reviews Widget](/v1/docs/adding-the-reviews-widget), [Reviews Tab](/v1/docs/reviews-tab), and [Dedicated SEO Page](/v1/docs/seo-page).

### Supported Formats

Customer-generated visuals must meet the following upload criteria:

**Photos**

- **Supported file formats**:
  - GIF
  - PNG
  - JPEG
  - BMP
- **Supported photo size**: Min. 400 x 400 pixels
- **Supported file size**: 10 MB or smaller

**Videos**

- **Supported file formats**:
  - Mpeg-4 and QuickTime Formats (MP4, MOV, QT, and M4V)
  - Flash Video (FLV and F4V)
  - Microsoft Windows Formats (AVI, ASF, WMV, and WMA),
  - MPEG-1/2 (MPG, M1V, M2V, MP3)
  - WAV
  - Matroska (MKV)
  - OGG OGM & OGV
  - WEBM
  - 3GP
  - RM
  - Webex (ARF)
  - MXF
- **Supported file size**: 2GB or smaller
- **Supported video length**:120min by default
  - Supported video length can be adjusted from within the Visual Reviews setting page.
- **Default**:10 video uploads per review
  - To change this default, please reach out to your Yotpo representative.

### Limitations

- By default, customers may upload up to 3 photos per review and/or 10 videos per review. Please contact your Yotpo representative if you want to collect more than three photos per review.
- To upload images and videos via the Reviews Widget, you will need to have the 3.0 Reviews Widget installed on your site. To learn more, see [Adding the Reviews Widget 3.0](/v1/docs/adding-the-reviews-widget-30).
- Reviews with attached files can't be auto-published. This is to ensure that only **appropriate visuals** are published on your site. These reviews can be moderated and published through the [**moderation panel**](https://reviews.yotpo.com/#/moderation/reviews)**.**

## Getting Started

### Configuring Image and Video Collection

To enable media uploads in review submissions:

1. From the Yotpo Reviews main menu, go to **Settings > Visual Reviews Settings**.
2. Select the checkboxes for **Photos** and/or **Videos**.
3. If enabling video uploads, set a **Maximum video length**.
4. Save your changes.

> Tip
> 
> To verify that upload options appear in your review request email, send yourself a test email. For steps, see [*Sending Test Emails*](https://support.yotpo.com/docs/creating-a-review-request#test-your-review-request-email).
> 
> Once you receive the test email, open it and submit a test review. You’ll be redirected to the landing page, where you can confirm whether the upload options are displayed.

### Publishing Customer Photos and Videos in the Reviews Widget

1. Log in to your Yotpo admin account.
2. From the left menu, go to **Reviews > Moderation**.
3. Use the **Sort by** filter and select **With Images / Videos** to find reviews containing media.
4. Select the checkbox beneath each image or video you want to publish.
5. The selected media will appear alongside the review on your site.

> **Note** It may take up to **4 hours** for media to appear live on your site.
