Configuring the Low in Stock Trigger Settings
- DarkLight
Alerting customers about low stock levels can significantly influence their purchase decisions. With Yotpo's SMS & Email Low in Stock flows, you have a powerful tool to notify potential buyers about limited availability, nudging them to act before it's too late. This strategy not only helps convert hesitant customers but also adds a sense of urgency that can drive sales.
In this article, you’ll learn how to configure the Low in Stock flow trigger settings.
How it works
The Low in Stock flow alerts your customers when only a few units of a product they viewed or added to their cart remain available for purchase. The feature applies to both products with and without variants:
Products with variants, like clothing items, come in different sizes, colors, etc.
Products without variants, such as books and paintings, are unique
Setting thresholds
When configuring the trigger settings, you can enter values for two types of thresholds:
Minimum number of units: Here you set the minimum number of units that will trigger a notification. If you set it to 5, when the inventory drops to 5 available units, a notification will be sent to the relevant subscribers.
Notified subscribers per unit: Here you can set the number of subscribers to be notified per remaining unit. If, for example, you set this to 10 and the minimum number of units is 5, 50 subscribers will receive a notification. This setting is optional, however, if you leave it empty, a notification will be sent to all relevant subscribers regardless of the number of units left.
Tip:
We recommend notifying fewer subscribers if the number of available items is low to avoid causing customer frustration when the stock runs out
Configuring the Low in Stock trigger settings
To configure the Low in Stock trigger settings:
In your Yotpo SMS & Email main menu, go to Flows > My Flows and click Create flow.
Select the Low in Stock trigger from the list of triggers.
In the trigger card, click Trigger settings.
In the Settings section, specify the minimum number of units to trigger the flow and the number of subscribers to notify per unit.
Choose which customers will receive notifications:
For products without variants, you can add customers who purchased a product from the same collection, viewed the product, or added the product to the cart during a specific period. If all your products have variants, this setting will be ignored.
For products with variants, you can select only customers who added the product to the cart during a specific period. If your store doesn’t have products with variants, this setting will be ignored.
Optionally, to avoid overwhelming your customers with too many messages, you can choose who should not receive notifications. You can select customers who purchased any product or those who bought the same product or its variants.
Please note:
Defining a period is mandatory. If left empty, the flow and the trigger settings cannot be saved.
Click Save.
