    Goals and Outcomes

A price cut always presents a valuable opportunity to attract customers interested in a particular product. Yotpo SMS & Email’s price drop flows are an ideal tool to acquire new customers and boost revenues.

In this article, you’ll learn how to set up the “Price drop” trigger settings.

    “Price Drop” Trigger Overview

The “ Price drop” flow trigger allows you to notify customers when a product price falls. The feature applies to both products with and without variants. Products with variants, like clothing items, come in different sizes, colors, etc. Products without variants, such as books and paintings, are unique.

Let’s look at an example where a 5% price drop was set. A customer adds an L-sized black t-shirt to their cart but doesn’t proceed with the purchase. Once the price of this specific t-shirt drops by at least 5%, the flow will be activated and the customer will receive a notification.

    Note

If a product or its variant is out of stock, the price drop flow won’t be activated.

Configuring the “Price Drop” Trigger Settings

To configure a flow’s “Price drop” trigger settings:

    1. In your Yotpo SMS & Email main menu, go to Flows > My Flows and click Create flow.

    2. Select the “Price drop” trigger from the list of triggers.

    3. In the trigger card, click Trigger settings.

    4. In the modal that opens, specify the minimum amount of the price drop that will activate the flow. You can choose either an absolute value in USD or a percentage.

    5. Select which customers will receive notification:

      1. For products without variants, you can add customers who purchased a product from the same collection, viewed the product, or added the product to the cart during a specific period. If your store doesn’t have products without variants, this setting will be ignored.

      2. For products with variants, you can select only customers who added the product to the cart during a specific period. If your store doesn’t have products with variants, this setting will be ignored.

    Note

Setting a period is mandatory. If you fail to do it, you won’t be able to save the trigger settings or the flow.

    1. Optionally, you can choose which customers should not receive notifications. You can add those who purchased any product or those who purchased the same product or any of its variants.

    2. Click Save.

After you’ve made your choice, set the flow’s frequency in the Default Trigger Options section.By default, customers can enter the flow once every 7 days to prevent receiving excessive messages during bulk price or inventory changes. You can adjust this limit to fit your brand's needs.

    Tip

If you want to allow 1 entry every X days, leave the Max flow entries per customer field empty, select Not been a part of the flow in the past days and enter the number of days in the designated field. To learn more about how to set up a flow, see Creating a Flow in Yotpo SMS & Email.
