Creating a Targeted Site Review Request
Targeted Site Review Requests allow you to leverage your existing customer information to generate site reviews and solidify your brand and reputation. This is a great way to accumulate site reviews that will highlight the service side of your business and help you meet the criteria for Google seller ratings.
In this article, you'll learn how to create a manual site review request and send it to your customers.
Getting started
Targeted site review requests generate reviews from your list of customer names and email addresses, thereby allowing you to ask a selected list of your customers for a site review request.
To access your Manual Review Requests for Site Reviews:
- In your Yotpo Reviews main menu, go to Emails > Targeted Site Review.
- Click the Site Reviews tab.
- If you are using the Template Editor, note that the site review request will utilize the Automatic Review Request template.
- This feature is limited to 2,500 reviews per Yotpo account.
Customizing targeted review request emails
Yotpo offers you the flexibility to customize the review request email. You can personalize your review requests by utilizing shortcodes to engage your customers and configure the email form type to optimize compatibility.
As review request forms are rendered differently across various browsers, devices, and email clients, Yotpo offers you the ability to choose the form type you wish to display to your customers. The Review Submission Settings allow you to choose between the form types outlined below.
Form-type | Display |
---|---|
Auto-optimize (default) | Automatically detects the device and email client used to open review request emails and will display either the In-mail form or a landing page offering optimal compatibility. |
Landing page | Upon clicking on the star rating, your customer will be directed to submit their review via an external landing page. |
Editing the email subject
- Edit the text in the Subject field
- Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the screen
Editing the email body
To make the most of your Site Review Requests, we recommend clarifying to your customers that you are asking them to leave a review of your overall shop experience (customer service, shipping speed, etc.) so that customers who have already reviewed a product will be motivated to review your shop as well.
- Edit the text in the Body field
- Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the screen
Adding shortcodes to your email
Shortcodes are dynamic parameters for engagement and use data from your store to turn each Automatic Review Request into a specific email rather than sending out a general email every time.
These are the shortcodes you can use:
Shortcode | Description |
---|---|
{user} | Including this shortcode will automatically add your customer’s name to your message. |
{store_name} | Including this shortcode will automatically add your store’s name to your message, as stated under your account’s settings (see Store tab). |
Editing the email signature
Make the signature reflect a person and not just a generic company.
- Edit the text in the Signature field
- Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the screen
Yotpo's spam filter
Yotpo's Spam Filter helps you avoid sending your customers excessive review requests.
