Yotpo Loyalty, Rewards & Referrals is a plug-and-play Shopify app, which means you can add Yotpo to your Shopify store with just a few clicks.

In this article, you’ll learn how to install the Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals app on Shopify Online Store 2.0.

This guide is for Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals customers using Shopify Online Store 2.0. If you’re using a vintage Shopify theme, please refer to our Shopify vintage guide. If you’re not sure which theme version you’re using, refer to the instructions in Shopify.

Installing the Yotpo Loyalty & Rewards App in Shopify

To get started, add the Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals app to your Shopify account:

1. Go to the Shopify App Store.

2. Look for Yotpo Loyalty Rewards Referral, and then click it.

3. On the app listing page, click Install.

   

4. In the Shopify admin, click Install to authorize the use of the app.

   

5. Set up your Yotpo username and password to continue setting up Loyalty & Referrals. When ready, click Create account.

   

Setting up Your Account

Once you’ve installed the app, we’ll guide you through some onboarding steps to make sure everything runs smoothly. You can immediately launch your loyalty program by customizing the Rewards Sticky Bar, program strategy, and email reminders, or you can set up your loyalty program later.

Important

Upon clicking the “Launch program” button, you will be prompted to enable the Loyalty App Embed in the Shopify theme editor. This step is crucial; if not completed, the on-site widgets will not be visible on your store.

Ensure that you enable the necessary on-site elements, including the Yotpo modules loader for Loyalty and the SDK loader if you plan to use the on-site widgets. You can enable these elements during the onboarding process or by following these steps.

Enabling Customer Accounts

To allow customers to interact with the Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals program, the customer accounts feature must be enabled in Shopify. To verify this, go to your Shopify admin > Settings > Customer accounts.

Once there, you need to enable the Show login links toggle and select which version of customer accounts you will be using for your store - Legacy or Customer accounts.
