Virtual Contact Card Overview
Enhancing your SMS marketing with Yotpo's Virtual Contact Card (VCC) feature allows you to create a personalized contact ID for your brand, which subscribers can easily save to their phones. This personalization fosters stronger brand recognition and trust, leading to improved conversion rates. By setting up your VCC, you ensure that your messages are instantly recognizable, enhancing customer engagement and reinforcing your brand identity.
Important
In campaigns, cards are sent only via MMS. The functionality is available in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico.
In flows, cards are sent via MMS in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. In other countries, if you have a personalized number (an LVN or a DSC), they are sent via SMS, where the text message includes a link to the card.
Setting up Your Virtual Contact Card
To set up your virtual contact card:
- In the Logo section, upload your unique brand logo. For an optimal visual experience, use a square image (1:1 ratio), with a maximum size of 3MB.
- Enter the data about your store that will be added to customers' phones:
- display name (mandatory)
- subheader
- URL
- email address
- address
- Click Add social media link, select a social media from the drop-down menu, and type in your store's link.
- Enter the text of the MMS and SMS that will accompany your virtual contact card. The field is pre-filled but you can personalize it to match your brand's voice.
Depending on their location, subscribers can receive:
An MMS including the card and text
An SMS including a link to the card and text
Note
Different devices and operating systems may have varying compatibility with the formatting or display of virtual contact cards. That is why it's not always possible to ensure that a virtual contact card will appear as intended on every device.
For example, subscribers may see it as an icon with the .VCF filename, or they may see your brand’s name instead without the .VCF filename.
Enabling a Welcome Flow with a Virtual Contact Card
Virtual contact cards can be added to your welcome messages, so subscribers can save your number right after the very first message they receive from you. If you haven’t enabled a welcome flow, go to Flows > Flow Templates and search for a Welcome flow template.
