Google seller ratings let shoppers know you are a trusted business with a good reputation, by displaying your store’s star rating alongside your ads.

In this article, you'll learn how to generate more site reviews in order to meet the Google seller rating requirements. Before you get started, we recommend you familiarize yourself with Google seller rating requirements

Checking how many site reviews you have

In order to see whether you meet Google's criteria:

    1. In your Yotpo Reviews main menu, go to Reviews > Moderation.
    2. Click Reviews and Q&A.
    3. Click Advanced Filters.
    4. Type in the dates in the From and To boxes. These dates must be a year apart.
    5. Ensure only Site Reviews is selected.
    6. Check the number of Site Reviews.
    Please note:
Yotpo runs a specific set of algorithms to filter and meet Google policies. Reviews that contain profanity words and short content reviews are filtered out by Yotpo.

After Yotpo's filters, Google runs another set of algorithms and logic to ensure only high-quality reviews are used for seller ratings, and this is the reason why you might see a lower number on your Google page.

    Generating more site reviews

There are a few ways to generate more site reviews in order to meet Google's criteria.

    1. Change the ratio of product to site review requests

Yotpo generally recommends setting the ratio of product review requests to site review requests at 70% product reviews and 30% site reviews. However, if you'd like to generate more site reviews in order to appear on the GSR, you should increase the amount of site reviews that you request.

    1. In your Yotpo Reviews main menu, go to Emails > Site Reviews.
    2. Set the slider to your desired ratio.

    Tip:
Once you’ve reached your Google seller rating quota, you can adjust this ratio to increase the number of product review requests.

    2. Keep 2-in-1 reviews enabled

When 2-in-1 reviews are enabled, customers are invited to write a site review right after they submit their product review. Keep this setting enabled to generate more site reviews without losing out on product reviews.

    3. Send manual review requests

    4. Post product reviews as site reviews

If you regularly post product reviews as site reviews, we recommend you do not offer coupons as an incentive for submitting product reviews. According to Google seller rating requirements, offering an incentive for submitting a site review will render this review ineligible for Google seller ratings. To post a product review as a site review:

    1. In your Yotpo Reviews main menu, go to Reviews > Moderation.
    2. If you have multiple stores, be sure to select the relevant store.
    3. Click Reviews & Q&A.
    4. Select the reviews.
    5. Click More Actions.
    6. Select Post as site review or Post as both product review and site review.
    Tip:
Make sure that the reviews are about your service or shipping and not the product itself.
