In this article, you'll learn how to import Yotpo CSV template files into Microsoft Excel so you preserve the UTF-8 encoding.
If you open the file directly in Excel, any special characters, such as ®, will be lost.
Please note:
This article refers to the latest version of Excel. The procedure may vary slightly for older releases.
Importing the CSV file
- Open Excel and create a new, blank workbook.
- Click Data to open the Data tab.
- Click From Text.
- Browse to the Yotpo template file you downloaded.
- Click Import.
- In the Text Import Wizard - Step 1 of 3 dialog box, select the following options:
- Delimited
- File origin: 65001 - Unicode (UTF-8)
- My data has headers - not checked
- Click Next.
- In the Text Import Wizard - Step 1 of 3 dialog box, select the following options:
- Delimiters: Select Comma; deselect all other options
- Text qualifier: "
- Click Next.
- In the Text Import Wizard - Step 3 of 3 dialog box, select Column data format: General:
- Click Finish.
- In the Import Data dialog box, select Existing worksheet:
- Click OK.
