Getting Started

The Insights Products dashboard provides you with valuable metrics on products in your store so you can pinpoint product-related issues based on actual customer sentiment from reviews. The Products dashboard makes it easy to compare products, track over- and underperforming products, and keep an eye on the performance of newly launched products and collections.

Note

Brands with non-English stores can take full advantage of product-level analysis. Non-English reviews are automatically translated and included in the algorithm to ensure consistent insights across languages. At this time, reviews written in other languages on English-language stores are not translated and may be excluded from analysis.

Products Dashboard

Each product strip includes the product name, average star rating, sentiment score, sentiment change over time, and reviews.

Products

Products represented in the Products dashboard are displayed according to the sorting criteria defined. By default, products are sorted by Most Relevant products which displays products with the most extreme sentiment score polarity or number of mentions in reviews.

Product Breakdowns

Click on each product strip to drill down and get a better understanding of what has the biggest impact on customer satisfaction.

When expanded, each strip includes an itemized breakdown of commonly mentioned topics associated with the selected product as well as the number of opinions per topic.

Reviews - volume over time

Reviews - Volume Over Time provides you with a visual representation of the number of reviews on a product or collection per the date range you've selected. This makes it easy to correlate positive or negative reviews with a specific point in time e.g. Black Friday, Cyber Monday, or a specific marketing campaign. Stacked bars reflect positive reviews at the bottom, negative opinions at the top, and inconclusive opinions in the middle.

Read reviews

Found a topic of interest? Click Read Reviews to get the full picture by reading product reviews in which this topic was mentioned. Reviews are split into tabs where topic sentiment is Positive, Negative, or Inconclusive.

Date Picker, Search, and Sorting

Use the date picker and sorting to refine topics in your dashboard.

Date picker

The date picker allows you to filter product insights for a specific date range by the date the review was submitted. Choosing a custom date range will display insights only for the date range specified.

You may define a custom date range using the calendar, or select one of three predefined ranges:

  • Past Month

  • Past 3 Months

  • Past Year

Product search

Use the search products to find specific products in your store.

Sorting

Sort products in your dashboard by highest or lowest star rating, sentiment, or positive/negative reviews. Most Relevant (default) displays products with the most extreme sentiment score polarity or number of mentions in reviews.

Average star rating

Use the Average Star Rating filter to refine searches based on the average star-rating score of products in your store.

Collections Dashboard

The Collections dashboard reflects insights on product collections in your store, making it easy to track and compare the performance of product collections.

Product collections usually reflect specific categories in your store. For example:

  • Products of a certain type e.g. Menswear, swimwear, accessories, etc.

  • Products on sale e.g. sale, clearance, Black Friday

  • Seasonal products e.g. fall collection, summer collection, new collection

  • Products in a certain size e.g. plus-size, big and tall

To view insights on product collections:

  1. Log into Yotpo Reviews.

  2. From the menu on the left, select Insights.

  3. Click the Products tab.

  4. From the dropdown in the upper right-hand corner, select Collections.

Filtering product collections

Product collections can be filtered by specific collections and products for easy side-by-side comparison in the Product Collections Dashboard.

Setting up collections

Product collections may be created via your product catalog import. If you're missing the Product Collections column in your product catalog, please contact your Yotpo representative for assistance.

Note that product collections are updated every 24 hours.

Shopify users

Yotpo automatically retrieves product collections from Shopify stores. If your store is Shopify-based, your Shopify collections should automatically display in the Collections dashboard!  

Exporting Data

Export data to enable teams company-wide with product insights. Products, Collections, and overview exports include data on opinions, review content, star rating, source, and more!

Note

The maximum export size is 10,000 rows. If you've exceeded this, try narrowing down your search using filters or date range and try again.

Click the export icon in the upper right-hand corner of the Insights products dashboard.

To export product data:

  1. Expand the relevant product strip.

  2. Click Read Reviews or Read All Reviews.

  3. Click Export to download the file directly to your computer.
