        Shopify allows merchants to create customer segments based on a filtered search. This feature allows merchants to segment their customers, and then limit the usage of a discount code given via the Loyalty & Referrals program (either converted from points or rewarded for completing an action) to these predefined customer segments.

        Finding the segment ID

        After creating a customer segment, the new segment will appear in the Customers page of your Shopify admin. To view existing segments or create a new one, click the All customers dropdown on the top left.Once you click on the customer segment, you will see the segment ID at the end of the page URL.

        Using the customer segment ID to limit coupon usage

        Please note:
        This setting limits the usage of the coupon to only customers that fit the customer segment filter. If customers not in the segment get access to such a coupon, it will not work for them at checkout.

        To use the segment ID to limit the discount usage that was given through the Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals program, please follow these steps:

        1. In your Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals admin, navigate to Rewards > Redeeming Points 
        2. Select Customize on the coupon you would like to limit the usage of:
        3. Scroll down and paste the segment ID into the Only applies to these segment IDs field.
          Please note:
          It's important to input the correct segment ID into the coupon settings in the admin, otherwise the generated codes will not be usable.
        4. Save your changes
