    The Repeat Customers Dashboard in Yotpo’s Retention suite offers insights into the behavior and impact of your repeat customers such as purchasing patterns, spending habits, and overall contribution to your store’s performance.

    It is designed to empower you to make data-driven decisions that boost customer lifetime value and retention.

    This data can help you:

    • Monitor repeat customer trends and key performance metrics

    • Gain insights into purchasing intervals between orders

    • Optimize your retention strategy by acting on high-impact areas

    In this article, you’ll learn how to use the Repeat Customers Dashboard to effectively analyze repeat customer behavior and apply insights to improve customer retention.

    Dashboard metrics

    Selecting the time frame

    • Data can be analyzed for the Last 3 months, Last 6 months, Last 12 months (default), or using Custom date ranges.

    • The dashboard refreshes every 24 hours, ensuring up-to-date insights.

    • Data is available for the past two years on a rolling basis.

    Key metrics

    The Repeat Customers Dashboard highlights four key metrics that give a high-level overview of your repeat customers' purchasing behaviors.

    Please note:

    The metrics are calculated using data sent to Yotpo from your eCommerce platform or data sent to Yotpo via API.
    This data includes:

    • Order data

    • Customer information

    • Currency

    According to our repeat customer definition, orders that have been fully refunded are excluded from these metrics.

    Repeat Customers

    • Customers who made two or more purchases within the selected date range.

    Average Sales per Repeat Customer

    • Shows the average sales value generated by repeat customers.

    • Formula: (Gross Sales - Discounts + Shipping + Taxes + Duties + Fees) / Number of Repeat Customers

    Average Orders per Repeat Customer

    • Indicates the average number of orders each repeat customer has made.

    • Formula: Total Number of orders by Repeat Customers / Number of Repeat Customers

    Average Repeat Customer Order Value

    • Shows the average order value of repeat customers.

    • Formula: Repeat Customer Sales (Gross - Discounts + Shipping + Taxes + Duties + Fees) / Number of Repeat Customer orders

    Median Time Between Orders

    • Illustrates the median time (in days) that customers take between each order in the selected timeframe.

    • X-axis: Order sequence (e.g., Order 1 to Order 2)

    • Y-axis: Median days between orders

    Customer Retention Between Orders

    • Visualizes customer retention and drop-off rates between each order sequence.

    • X-axis: Number of orders (e.g., Order 1, Order 2, etc.)

    • Y-axis: Number of repeat customers

    • This graph highlights the biggest drop-off points to help identify where retention efforts could be optimized.
