Here’s what your customers will experience: 1. A customer shops on your store. 2. On the Rewards page, they see a free product they’re eligible to redeem. 3. As they add items to their cart, they can see the cost in points for each eligible free product, making it easy to redeem their points for rewards. ### Setting Up Free Product Rewards To enable free product redemptions, you first need to create a free product reward in Yotpo: 1. From your **Yotpo Loyalty admin**, go to **Manage Program**. 2. Click **Reward Program > Ways to redeem > Create reward**. 1. Alternatively, next to Ways to redeem, click **Manage rewards**, and select **Create reward** in the upper right corner of the rewards table. 3. In the modal that appears, select **Free product** from the reward type dropdown and click **Next**. 4. Click **Add free products** and search for the product either by its name or variant ID. 5. Select the desired product(s) and the respective variants, and click **Save**. ![Adding free products](https://cdn.document360.io/f3c2ab59-fe4c-4f93-9614-2872f40e8aa7/Images/Documentation/add-free-products.gif?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-05T20%3A34%3A20Z&se=2026-11-05T21%3A34%3A20Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=SgOMK%2BYmoPY%2FGWTvaZnJjZ4G25B4DCGiILOZy2glcdk%3D) 6. Here’s what you’ll see in the table: - **Display name**: Editable. This is the name that will appear on the widget and customers will see during redemption. - **Variant ID**: Non-editable, automatically pulled from Shopify. - **Store stock**: Non-editable, automatically pulled from Shopify. This shows your real-time Shopify inventory and reflects the actual number of units available in your store for that product variant (updated hourly). - **Allocated stock**: Editable. It indicates the number of units allocated (from your store stock) specifically for free product redemptions through your loyalty program. This defines how many items can be added to customers’ carts as free rewards. Once this number reaches 0, the widget will display the product as out of stock, but it will not affect your actual Shopify inventory levels. > [!NOTE] > Store stock vs. Reward stock > > **How it works**: > > - When adding a new product, Reward stock = Store stock by default. > - When a free product is redeemed, both Store stock and Reward stock go down to reflect real-time inventory. > - For paid purchases (without free product redemption), only Store stock is reduced. > > Our system has a built-in mechanism to make sure that even after setup, Store stock never drops below Reward stock. This prevents shoppers from redeeming free products when the item is actually out of stock in your store. > > **Note**: If Store stock = 0 because inventory isn’t tracked (e.g., gift cards or services), then only Reward stock will decrease when a product is redeemed. > [!TIP] > Tip > > We recommend setting the Reward stock equal to or below the Store stock value to ensure product availability. - **Redeemed**: Non-editable. Shows the number of times the free product has been redeemed. - **Price**: Non-editable, automatically pulled from Shopify. - **Cost in points**: Editable. This will be displayed to customers when they add the product to their cart. It’s calculated based on the price and your cash discount settings (**Manage Program > Rewards Program > Ways to redeem > Cash discount reward > Points value**), or set to 100 if the price is not configured. You can edit this field if you want to override the default value. ![Configuring the cost in points](https://cdn.document360.io/f3c2ab59-fe4c-4f93-9614-2872f40e8aa7/Images/Documentation/cost-in-points-value.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-05T20%3A34%3A20Z&se=2026-11-05T21%3A34%3A20Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=SgOMK%2BYmoPY%2FGWTvaZnJjZ4G25B4DCGiILOZy2glcdk%3D) ![Cost in points example](https://cdn.document360.io/f3c2ab59-fe4c-4f93-9614-2872f40e8aa7/Images/Documentation/price-cost-in-points(1).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-05T20%3A34%3A20Z&se=2026-11-05T21%3A34%3A20Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=SgOMK%2BYmoPY%2FGWTvaZnJjZ4G25B4DCGiILOZy2glcdk%3D) - For example, if your points value is set to $1 = 20 points, and your free product costs $54.99, the free products table will display 1100 under **Cost in points**. ## Adding Free Products to Your Site Now that you’ve configured your free products, you need to add them to your store through the Free Products widget: 1.
