Updated widget versions include bug fixes and security enhancements that improve your on-site experience and security. Additionally, the updated version may also include new features or improvements that enhance widget performance and responsiveness. Updating to the latest version ensures your widgets perform efficiently and deliver the best possible shopper experience.
In this article, you’ll learn how to manage, preview, and publish the newest available widget version.

Merchants using Yotpo Reviews 3.0 Widgets.
How it works
When you update a widget, you replace the existing core widget code with the newest version.
If a widget includes custom CSS, those overrides remain intact. Yotpo does not automatically update widgets that have custom CSS applied. In this case, the widget version can only be updated manually.
Automatic Version Updates
By default, Yotpo automatically updates your 3.0 widgets to the latest version. If your widget was updated, you’ll see a notification the next time you log in to Yotpo Reviews.
If you wish to disable the automatic update for your widget version:
In the Yotpo Reviews main menu, go to On-site Widgets.
Click on Widget Settings in the top right corner.
Turn off the Auto-update widgets toggle.
Click Save.
From now on, the widget version can only be updated manually after you preview it.
Important
Once the widget version has been published and pushed to the live site, whether automatically or manually, it cannot be reverted.
Manual Version Updates
If automatic updates are turned off, you’ll see a banner in the widget editor notifying you that a new version is available.
You can preview the latest widget version or skip the update.
Tip
When a new version is available, you can see your current widget version at the bottom of the widget editor page.
Preview Version Update
Click Preview version in the banner to see how the latest version affects your widget’s design.
Note
Previewing the update does not affect your live on-site experience.
You will now be able to see the latest available widget version and how it affects your widget design and settings..
If you approve of the changes and want to push them onto your live site, click the Update version option in the banner.
If you do not want to change your widget version after looking at the preview, click the Exit preview option and then Skip the version.
Skip Version Update
If you click Skip the version, the banner will not appear again until a newer version becomes available.
