Check that your store meets the requirements: WordPress 6.0 or later, PHP 7.4 or later, and WooCommerce 3.0 or later. The plugin is tested up to WordPress 7.1 and WooCommerce 11.2. - Check our [Supported Platforms](https://support.yotpo.com/v1/docs/supported-platforms-for-yotpo-reviews-and-visual-ugc) guide. > [!WARNING] > Note > > The plugin doesn't support third-party page builders such as Elementor or Divi. For those, please see our guide on [manually installing the Reviews Widget and Star Rating](https://support.yotpo.com/docs/woocommerce-manually-installing-reviews-widget-and-star-rating). ## Installing Yotpo Reviews Follow the steps in order and don't skip any. > [!WARNING] > Note > > Changes to on-site widgets, such as the Reviews Widget and Reviews Tab, can take time to appear on your live site. [Learn about widget performance settings](https://support.yotpo.com/docs/adding-the-reviews-widget#updating-your-widget-version). This guide will walk you through the process of integrating Yotpo Reviews into your WooCommerce store. ### Step 1: Install the Yotpo plugin 1. In your WordPress admin, go to **Plugins > Add New** and search for **Yotpo Product Reviews**. Install and activate the [Yotpo plugin](https://wordpress.org/plugins/yotpo-social-reviews-for-woocommerce/). 2. Click **Yotpo** in the WordPress admin menu. 3. Under **Connection**, enter your **App key** and **Secret token**. New to Yotpo? Click **Sign up on yotpo.com**, create your account, then come back and enter your keys. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/f3c2ab59-fe4c-4f93-9614-2872f40e8aa7/Images/Documentation/image(538).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T16%3A12%3A14Z&se=2026-10-31T17%3A12%3A14Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=zjbpqvuB%2B0v8DYryDGCl55IWKM9Kv7tt8WGWLnB85Io%3D) 4. Under **Orders**, check that **Send orders to Yotpo** is on. Then, under **Send review requests when an order reaches**, choose the status that means an order is fulfilled. The default is **Completed**, and any order status works, including custom ones such as Delivered. Orders that reach it are sent to Yotpo and trigger automatic review requests (Premium and Enterprise plans). 5. Click **Save changes**. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/f3c2ab59-fe4c-4f93-9614-2872f40e8aa7/Images/Documentation/image(539).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T16%3A12%3A14Z&se=2026-10-31T17%3A12%3A14Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=zjbpqvuB%2B0v8DYryDGCl55IWKM9Kv7tt8WGWLnB85Io%3D) > [!WARNING] > Note > > Once your keys are saved, the plugin starts syncing your product catalog to Yotpo in the background. [Jump to **Product catalog sync**](/v1/docs/woocommerce-installing-yotpo#product-catalog-sync). ### Step 2: Enable reviews for your store This step applies to WooCommerce 3 and later. On older versions, skip to Step 3. 1. In your WordPress admin, go to **WooCommerce** > **Settings** > **Products**. 2. Check **Enable product reviews** and click **Save changes**. ### Step 3: Choose your on-site widgets Activating the plugin adds Yotpo's JavaScript, [Conversion Tracking](https://support.yotpo.com/v1/docs/conversion-tracking), the [Reviews Widget](https://support.yotpo.com/v1/docs/adding-the-reviews-widget), and the [Star Rating](https://support.yotpo.com/v1/docs/adding-the-star-rating) to your product pages. The Q&A widget is optional (see [Q&A Widget Overview](https://support.yotpo.com/v1/docs/qa-widget-overview)). To choose which widgets appear and where: 1. Click **Yotpo** in the WordPress admin menu and scroll to **On-site widgets**. 2. Set **Widget placement**: - **Automatic** places the widgets in your theme's standard product page areas. - **Manual** lets you place them yourself. Follow the Manual Installation Guide. 3. Turn on the widgets you want: **Reviews widget**, **Star rating on product pages**, **Star rating on category pages** and **Q&A widget** (optional). For **Reviews carousel**, **Promoted products** and **Reviews tab**, check the pages each one appears on. 4. Leave **Match each page's language** on to show the widgets in each page's language, including on multilingual sites (WPML, Polylang). Turn it off to use the language set in Yotpo, under **Account Settings > General Settings > Language**. 5. Click **Save changes**. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/f3c2ab59-fe4c-4f93-9614-2872f40e8aa7/Images/Documentation/image(540).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T16%3A12%3A14Z&se=2026-10-31T17%3A12%3A14Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=zjbpqvuB%2B0v8DYryDGCl55IWKM9Kv7tt8WGWLnB85Io%3D) > [!NOTE] > Note > > If you turn on a widget you haven't customized in Yotpo yet, customize it in Yotpo Reviews first. Stores that updated from an earlier plugin version start with **Match each page's language** off, so their widgets keep the language set in Yotpo. > [!CAUTION] > Note > > Still on V2 widgets? **On-site widgets** shows the notice **Your store uses V2 widgets, which are being retired.** Set up your V3 Reviews Widget in Yotpo, then click **Switch to V3 widgets**. The plugin turns on the V3 versions of the widgets your store showed. You can't switch back. ### Step 4: Import your existing reviews 1. Click **Yotpo** in the WordPress admin menu and scroll to **Tools**. 2. Click **Export reviews** to download your WooCommerce reviews as a CSV file. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/f3c2ab59-fe4c-4f93-9614-2872f40e8aa7/Images/Documentation/woocommerce-yotpo-06-tools.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T16%3A12%3A14Z&se=2026-10-31T17%3A12%3A14Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=zjbpqvuB%2B0v8DYryDGCl55IWKM9Kv7tt8WGWLnB85Io%3D) 3. Send the file through the [online support form](https://yap.yotpo.com/#/?modal=contact_support), and we'll import your reviews. ### Step 5 (optional): Send past orders Send orders from before you installed the plugin, so those customers can be asked for a review. 1. Click **Yotpo** in the WordPress admin menu and scroll to **Orders**. 2. Under **Send past orders**, enter how many days back to go, from 1 to 180. The default is 90. The number of orders in that period shows below the button. 3. Click **Send past orders** and confirm. The orders are sent in the background, and the progress shows under the button. Only orders in the status you chose in Step 1 are sent. Orders Yotpo already has are skipped, so running it again sends no order twice. > [!CAUTION] > Note > > Customers of these orders may get a review request, depending on your Yotpo settings. Learn more in [WooCommerce: Setting Up Past Automatic Review Requests](https://support.yotpo.com/docs/woocommerce-setting-up-past-automatic-review-requests). ### Step 5 (optional): Send past orders Under **Tools > Send past orders**, you can send orders from the last 90 days with the status you chose in Step 1 so Yotpo can ask those customers for reviews. You can do this once. Review requests may go out for these orders, depending on your Yotpo settings. Learn more in [Setting up past automatic review requests](https://support.yotpo.com/docs/woocommerce-setting-up-past-automatic-review-requests). ## Product Catalog Sync Available from plugin version 1.10.0. The plugin keeps your product catalog in Yotpo up to date, including variations. It runs in the background, so it doesn't slow down your store's pages. - **First sync:** right after you connect or update, the plugin syncs your whole catalog once. It checks what Yotpo already has and only sends what's missing or changed. - **After that****,** each product you add or change syncs on its own. - **Unpublished products:** draft, trashed, or deleted products are hidden in Yotpo. They won't receive review requests and won't appear in widgets. Publishing a product again restores it. - **Variations:** each variation is synced as a variant of its product. Disabled or deleted variations are marked as discontinued. - **Brand and barcodes:** the brand comes from **WooCommerce Brands**, and barcodes from the product's **GTIN, UPC, EAN,** or **ISBN** field. If those are empty, the plugin uses product attributes named `brand`, `upc`, `isbn` or `ean`. To send an MPN, add a product attribute named `mpn`. ### Sync status Under **Product catalog**, the line below **Sync products to Yotpo** shows what the sync is doing: ![](https://cdn.document360.io/f3c2ab59-fe4c-4f93-9614-2872f40e8aa7/Images/Documentation/woocommerce-yotpo-05-product-catalog.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T16%3A12%3A14Z&se=2026-10-31T17%3A12%3A14Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=zjbpqvuB%2B0v8DYryDGCl55IWKM9Kv7tt8WGWLnB85Io%3D) | Status | What it means | | --- | --- | | Full sync running: X of Y products done. | The first sync is in progress. | | Last full sync: [date]. X synced, Y failed. | The full sync finished. If products failed, the last error is shown. | | Full sync stopped. It starts again on the next page load. | The sync was turned off during a full sync. | | Full sync stalled: X of Y products done. | The sync stopped making progress several times. Check your PHP error log, then turn **Sync products to Yotpo** off and on to try again. | | Off. Products are not sent to Yotpo. | The sync is turned off. | ### Turning the sync off Under **Product catalog**, turn off **Sync products to Yotpo** and click **Save changes**. Any queued sync jobs are canceled. Turning it back on runs a full sync to catch up. ## ## Order sync Available from plugin version 2.0.0. The plugin sends each order to Yotpo once, when it reaches the status under **Send review requests when an order reaches**. It runs in the background, so checkout stays fast. - **Refunds before the order is sent:** a product refunded in full gets no review request. A product refunded in part is still included. - **Refunds after the order is sent:** refunding or cancelling the whole order cancels its review requests. A single product refunded later stays in the request. - **Orders sent by earlier plugin versions** are found in Yotpo and not sent again. - **Daily check:** once a day, the plugin sends orders from the last 7 days that Yotpo is missing, for example after a connection problem. - **Skipped orders:** orders without an email address or a first name, and orders placed more than 6 months ago. ### Order sync status The line below **Send orders to Yotpo** shows how sending is going: | Status | What it means | | --- | --- | | **Last order sent: [date]. X sent in the last 30 days, Y failed.** | Orders are being sent. If one failed, the line ends with its order number and the error. | | **On. No orders sent yet.** | Waiting for the first order to reach your status. | | **Starts once the app key and secret token are saved.** | Save your keys under **Connection** first. | | **Off. Orders are not sent to Yotpo.** | **Send orders to Yotpo** is off. | ### Turning it off Turn off **Send orders to Yotpo** only if your orders reach Yotpo another way, then click **Save changes**. Orders waiting to be sent are canceled. When you turn it back on, orders fulfilled in the meantime aren't sent: use **Send past orders** for them. ## Managing the blocklist, groups and custom questions with product tags Available from plugin version 1.11.0. You can set a product's [blocklist](https://support.yotpo.com/docs/adding-products-to-blocklist) status, [review group](https://support.yotpo.com/docs/grouping-products), and [custom question form](https://support.yotpo.com/docs/adding-custom-questions-to-your-review-emails) with WooCommerce product tags, instead of updating your product catalog in Yotpo. ### Turning it on 1. Click **Yotpo** in the WordPress admin menu and scroll to **Product catalog**. 2. Turn on **Use product tags for the blocklist, groups, and custom questions**. 3. Click **Save changes**. The plugin syncs your catalog once to apply your tags. Once your keys are saved, the plugin starts syncing your product catalog to Yotpo in the background. [Jump to **Product catalog sync**](/v1/docs/woocommerce-installing-yotpo#product-catalog-sync). > [!WARNING] > **Please note:** > > When this setting is on, your product tags replace the blocklist, groups and custom question forms set in Yotpo, for example by catalog CSV. Tag your products before you turn it on. ### The tags | Tag | What it does | Example | | --- | --- | --- | | `YBlocklist` | Adds the product to your blocklist: no automatic review requests, and its reviews don't appear in widgets such as the Reviews Carousel. | `YBlocklist` | | `YGroup_` Followed by the group name | Adds the product to a review group, so it shares reviews with the other products in the group. | `YGroup_mountain_shoes` Puts the product in the group **mountain_shoes,** | | `YCRF_` followed by the form tag | Review requests for the product use the custom question form with that tag. | `YCRF_apparel` Uses the form tagged **apparel** | ### Rules - **Tags are case-sensitive:** write `YBlocklist`, `YGroup_` and `YCRF_` exactly as shown. - **The prefix isn't part of the name:** `YGroup_shirts` puts the product in the group **shirts**. - **One group and one form per product:** if a product has more than one `YGroup_` or `YCRF_` tag, the first in alphabetical order is used. - **Group names** use lowercase letters, numbers, `-` and `_`up to 100 characters. Other characters are converted: uppercase letters become lowercase, spaces become`_`, and any other character becomes `-`. - **Form tags** must match the tag of the form exactly, including uppercase and lowercase letters, and can't contain commas. - **Removing a tag reverses it:** the product leaves the blocklist or its group, or goes back to the default form. - **Renaming or deleting** one of these tags under **Products > Tags** updates every product that has it. > [!WARNING] > **Please note:** > > To tag many products at once, select them on the Products page, then choose **Bulk actions > Edit** and add the tag under **Product tags**. ### Turning it off Turn off **Use product tags for the blocklist, groups, and custom questions,** and click **Save changes**. Products keep the blocklist status, group, and form they have in Yotpo, and you can manage them in Yotpo again. ## Changing your app key and secret token 1. Click **Yotpo** in the WordPress admin menu. Under **Connection**, click **Change keys**. 2. Enter the new app key and secret token. To keep your saved secret token, leave its field empty. 3. Click **Save changes**. The plugin checks the new keys with Yotpo first. If Yotpo doesn't accept them, your saved keys stay. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/f3c2ab59-fe4c-4f93-9614-2872f40e8aa7/Images/Documentation/image(541).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T16%3A12%3A14Z&se=2026-10-31T17%3A12%3A14Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=zjbpqvuB%2B0v8DYryDGCl55IWKM9Kv7tt8WGWLnB85Io%3D) > [!CAUTION] > **Note:** > > A different app key connects your store to another Yotpo account. Your product catalog is sent to it again, and new orders go to it. To send it earlier orders, use **Send past orders**. ## Showing more Yotpo widgets (for developers) If your theme calls `wc_yotpo_show_custom_widgets()` on product pages, list the widgets it shows with the `wc_yotpo_custom_widget_instances` filter, for example in your theme's `functions.php`: ```plaintext add_filter( 'wc_yotpo_custom_widget_instances', function ( $ids ) {    $ids[] = '123456'; // The widget's instance ID    return $ids; } ); ``` You'll find a widget's instance ID in Yotpo under [path: confirm with Teddy]. From plugin version 2.0.0, `wc_yotpo_show_custom_widgets()` shows nothing until you add an instance ID. ## Troubleshooting #### The Reviews Widget doesn't appear on some product pages 1. In your WordPress admin, click **Products**. 2. Select the products where the widget should appear. 3. Open **Bulk actions**, choose **Edit,** and click **Apply**. 4. Next to **Comments**, select **Allow**. 5. Click **Update**. #### Orders don't reach Yotpo 1. Click **Yotpo** and scroll to **Orders**. The line below **Send orders to Yotpo** shows the last failure and its error. 2. Check that your orders reach the status under **Send review requests when an order reaches**. 3. Orders without an email address or a first name, and orders placed more than 6 months ago, are skipped. 4. To see the background jobs, go to **WooCommerce > Status > Scheduled Actions** and search for "yotpo". #### The plugin shows a warning about your PHP version Your server runs a PHP version without the fix for two critical security flaws in PHP itself. Ask your hosting provider to update PHP to the version in the warning, or to confirm they've applied the fix. #### The sync status shows an error - **HTTP 406:** Yotpo rejected a product or image URL. This happens on staging and local sites, such as localhost, whose URLs Yotpo can't reach. Orders with those products fail for the same reason. Run the plugin on your live store. - **To see the sync's background jobs,** go to **WooCommerce > Status > Scheduled Actions** and search for "yotpo". - **For developers:** the plugin includes WP-CLI commands: `wp yotpo product-sync status`, `wp yotpo product-sync start` and `wp yotpo product-sync product <id>`. ## ## Related - [WooCommerce: Setting Up Past Automatic Review Requests](/woocommerce-setting-up-past-automatic-review-requests.md) - [Installing on WooCommerce](/installing-on-woocommerce.md)
