Coupons Overview

Yotpo Loyalty & Referral coupons are rewards that you can give to your customers in exchange for their loyalty points or when completing an earning rule (previously known as a campaign).

Coupons represent the different reward options available in Loyalty & Referrals.

It is a great way to invite returning shoppers and loyal customers to your store and increase customer engagement and purchase frequency. There are two classifications of coupons: Redeemable Coupons and Direct Coupons.

Redeemable coupons

These rewards can be redeemed in exchange for loyalty points. They appear on the 'Get Rewards' tab on your store's Rewards Popup or Rewards page. 

Direct coupons

These rewards are given to the customers after they complete an earning rule or an action.

Creating a coupon for an earning rule

An earning rule is a promotion that aims to help you increase purchase frequency and online traffic, which also helps with your SEO.

It uses Direct coupons with various Reward Options as a reward to customers who complete an earning rule. When creating your first earning rule, you'll notice that the coupon dropdown menu shows  $0.00 by default.

To populate the menu with more coupon options, simply create & customize coupons. Here is how to do it: 

1. Go to the Rewards section on your Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals admin, and select Redeeming Points.
2. In the "I want to use this coupon to reward customers" dropdown, select the option "Immediately after they complete an earning rule (i.e. instead of points)" - This selection creates direct coupons.
   
3. You may then choose your preferred reward option or coupon type, and click save. Once a coupon is created, it will then be available on the dropdown as an option for your next earning rule.
   

Creating a redeemable coupon/rewards page coupon

Redeemable coupons are the rewards that appear on the Rewards page or on the 'Get Rewards' section in your store's Rewards tab. These reward coupons are redeemable in exchange for loyalty points. Follow the steps below to create your Redeemable coupons and Rewards page coupons.

1. Go to the Rewards section on your Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals admin, and click on Create a New Coupon to start setting up your discount coupon.
2. In the "I want to use this coupon to reward customers" dropdown, select "When they redeem their points". This option creates Redeemable coupons.
   
3. You may then choose your preferred reward option or coupon type, and click save.
