This is a useful tool when you wish to reward customers with **coupons that will be applied on a platform or 3rd party app** that Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals does not directly integrate with. ## Creating a new Custom Coupon 1. In your Yotpo Loyalty & Referral admin, go to **Rewards > Redeeming Points** 2. Click on **Create a New Coupon**3. Select the **Custom Coupon** coupon type ![](https://cdn.document360.io/f3c2ab59-fe4c-4f93-9614-2872f40e8aa7/Images/Documentation/d40fc6d1-2334-4929-8faa-1aa0107a55b6.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-08T12%3A20%3A34Z&se=2026-11-08T13%3A20%3A34Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=%2FRTeG6sTx%2FJfryH%2FWm2QhdkdgXtgRpQhaPzeE%2FCwR10%3D) #### Setting up your Custom Coupon Below are the descriptions of custom coupon settings for your reference: - **Where the coupon will be used?** - This setting impacts the coupon types that appear in [the In-store Module](/v1/docs/in-store-widget) - **Coupon Value in Cents** - This value will be displayed as part of your investment in the performance dashboards - **When the number of unused codes goes below this number, a webhook notification will be sent** - this determines the threshold on which the "[Redemption Below Threshold](https://loyaltyapi.yotpo.com/reference#redemption-below-threshold)" event will be triggered. This setting can be used to create an [automated flow of uploading new codes](/v1/docs/creating-a-custom-coupon#uploading-codes-using-an-automated-flow-via-api) into your custom coupons. ## Uploading Codes into your Custom Coupons ### Uploading codes manually 1. Create the codes on the 3rd party/platform you would like to have them apply - once the customers receive the custom coupon they will be able to use them on the designated 3rd party/platform. 2. If you are trying to upload more than 500 codes, please use the copy-paste option. - You can also upload the codes using the Upload Coupon Codes API call, as detailed in our [API docs](https://loyaltyapi.yotpo.com/reference#add-coupon-codes). This flow will require three steps: #### 1. Setting up a Webhook URL 1. Navigate to **Settings**. 2. Setting up the webhook notification threshold For each custom coupon option, please complete the following: 1. Navigate to **Rewards** > **Redeeming Points**. 2. Click **Customize** on the custom coupon. 3. Click **Save** #### 3. Uploading new codes Once the webhook notification will be triggered, you will be getting the "[Redemption Below Threshold](https://loyaltyapi.yotpo.com/reference/redemption-below-threshold)" event to the webhook URL you had previously set up. The event will contain the *redemption_option_id* of the custom coupon, as well as its name, and the entire redemption option (coupon) object. You can now use these parameters to trigger a bulk creation of the relevant type of coupons on the platform/3rd party and push them into Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals using the [Upload Coupon Codes](https://loyaltyapi.yotpo.com/reference/add-coupon-codes) API call. This will complete the flow and ensure customers can continue redeeming their points for the different Custom Coupons. **Finding the Custom Coupon ID** To map out which redemption option ID is associated with which custom coupon, simply click **Customize** on the relevant coupon.
