Yotpo has several modules and Rewards Page sections to let your customers redeem points on your site. These include the Redeem Points (Interactive), Redeem Points (Read-only), and Redeem Points (Free Products), as well as the checkout modules if you are implementing them at checkout.

Each Module/Section has different capabilities, and it is important to know which is the right one to use for your program.

You can find out what you need based on where you want to let shoppers redeem points, and what kind of rewards you're offering. We will cover in this article which Module/Section you should use based on these two questions.

    Where will customers redeem points?

The first question is where do you want to allow customers to redeem their points?

We will talk about 3 options in this article:

    • Rewards page only
    • Checkout only
    • Both checkout + Rewards page

What kind of rewards will you offer?

The next question is what kind of rewards are you offering your customers?

Below are the 4 types of reward options and a definition of each:

    Reward TypeDescription
Fixed amount cash discount(e.g. $10 off, $20 off)The fixed amount cash discounts offer a pre-determined discount value, for example, a $10 off coupon for 100 points, or $20 off for 200 points. Shoppers can only redeem pre-set amounts.
    Percentage discount(e.g. 10% off, 20% off)

Percentage discounts offer a pre-determined discount percentage value, for example, a 15% discount coupon for 100 points, or a 10% discount coupon after completing a campaign. Shoppers can only redeem pre-set amounts.
Any amount cash discount (variable)(e.g. $1= 10 points)Any amount cash discount means you let customers redeem points on a sliding scale defined by a points-to-dollars ratio. For example, if your ratio is $1= 10 points, then 1234 points = $123 dollars. Shoppers can redeem a dynamic amount of their choosing.
Free productsCustomers can redeem points for free products. For example, redeem 1000 points for a free water bottle.

    Fixed amount & percentage discounts

If you use fixed amount discounts (e.g. $10 off, $20 off) or percentage discounts (e.g. 10% off, 20% off), you'll need to use the Redeem Points (Interactive) on your Rewards page, and the Checkout (Dropdown) if you are implementing at checkout.

    Any amount cash discount (Variable)

If you offer variable coupons (e.g. $1=10 points) we suggest using the Redeem Points (Read-only Section) to display visually to shoppers how much points are worth, but they will actually redeem their points at checkout with the Checkout (Slider Bar).

    Free Products

If you have free products set up, and you want customers to redeem them on the Rewards Page, you'll need to use the Free products module/section. If you want them to redeem Free products on the checkout page, the Free Products Module can also be deployed at checkout.
