    Use the tips and quick solutions below to get the most out of Yotpo's content syndication feature.

    Comment syndication

    Once you've started to display syndicated reviews on-site, there are two ways to add comments to these reviews:

    1. Self Comment
      Commenting on a syndicated review will automatically make the comment Public. The comment will appear on-site along with your account's name and avatar, but will not be communicated to the reviewer. Private comments are not applicable in this case as they must be communicated by email to the reviewer. You can edit/delete your answer late if necessary.
    2. Syndicate Comments From the Source Account.
      If you're syndicating comments, comments received through the source account will appear on-site with the source account's name and avatar as well as in the Moderation section of your Yotpo Admin. If you'd rather hide a specific syndicated comment, you can change the display status from Public to Private or delete the comment altogether. However, it is not possible to edit a syndicated comment
    Please note:
    If you've commented on a review prior to the source account and applied comment syndication afterward, the source comment will not override your comment and will not appear on your site.

    Photos syndication

    Photos can be syndicated along with reviews. If a syndicated review was generated with photos, the photos will appear in the reviews Moderation section of the Yotpo admin. If you choose to adopt the source moderation, it will affect this photos as well. In other words, if a photo is published in the source account, it will also be published in the destination account and you can always choose to publish or unpublish each syndicated photo through Moderation.

     

    Please note:
    Syndicated photos will appear in all relevant photo widgets according to your on-site widget configurations. Photo widgets include: Reviews Widget, Reviews Tab, SEO Page, Photos Carousel, and Visual UGC Gallery

    Custom review forms syndication

    Custom Review Forms and their associated reviews can be syndicated across multiple accounts, however, syndicated answers to custom questions cannot be aggregated with their organic answers - even if the question is identical. If you'd rather not display aggregated custom review forms, contact your Customer Success Manager or Yotpo Support. 

    Q&A syndication

    In addition to syndicating reviews, you can also syndicate Questions and Answers (Q&A). 

    Once you've started syndicating Q&A, questions from the source account will appear in the destination account according to the same product matching used for reviews. 

    There are a few ways to get answers to syndicated questions:  

    1. SelfAnswer
      You can answer the syndicated question yourself, in which case the answer will always be a public answer. This answer will not be communicated to the reviewer that asked the question but it will be presented on your site along with the account name and avatar. Private answers are not applicable in this case since private answers are communicated to the reviewer via email.  
      You can edit/delete your answer late if necessary.
    2. Get Answers From Past Shoppers
      You can send a question to your past shoppers. Their answers will appear in the reviews Moderation section of the Yotpo Admin where you can then decide whether to publish or unpublish each answer.
    3. Syndicate Answers From the Source Account
      If you choose to syndicate answers to questions, answers will appear on-site along with the account name and avatar as well as in the Moderation section of the Yotpo Admin once answered by the source account or past shoppers. If you'd rather avoid displaying an answer on-site, you can change the display status of syndicated answers from Public to Private or delete it altogether. However, it is not possible to edit a syndicated answer. 

    Site reviews syndication

    Site reviews and product reviews can be syndicated across accounts. However, unlinke product reviews, they'll simply be duplicated across syndicated accounts as they do not utilize a unique identifier. Reach out to your Yotpo Customer Success Manager if you'd like to set up site reviews syndication. 

    Review count & average star rating syndication

    There are cases where it may be beneficial to only display the total count and average star-rating of syndicated reviews without displaying the textual review content itself.

    For example, if your store collects reviews from multiple localized stores (e.g. English, Spanish, French, German, etc.), displaying the content of syndicated reviews may result in the appearance of reviews in multiple languages.

    In such cases, you may opt to only display the review content of reviews from the original domain, and the total count and average star-rating of reviews collected from syndicated stores (e.g. in other languages).

    Your store is translated into three languages- English, Spanish, and French. Visitors to your English store will only see reviews submitted through the English site (in English), however, the total reviews count and average star-rating will reflect the aggregated review count and star-rating from all of your syndicated stores. 

    Visitors to your Spanish site will only see reviews submitted through the Spanish site (in Spanish) and the total reviews count and average star-rating will reflect the aggregated review count and star-rating from all of your syndicated stores.
