## Goals and Outcomes

The Yotpo video review earning rule helps turn your customers into your best content creators. Showcasing authentic videos in reviews is a compelling way to bring your product to life and drive purchases.

This article shows how to create a video review earning rule and how to customize every part of it.

Is this article for me?

If you're using Shopify or Shopify Plus, please refer to [this article](/v1/docs/creating-a-yotpo-video-review-earning-rule-on-shopify).

> [!WARNING]
> Note
>
> Points for video review submissions are awarded only when the review is submitted through an [**Automatic Review Request email**](https://support.yotpo.com/docs/creating-a-review-request).

## Customize Your Earning Rule Settings

The Yotpo video review earning rule is highly customizable. Below is an overview of all the settings:

**Do you see a different interface?**

If your earning rule settings are different from the settings listed below, please follow [this guide](/v1/docs/creating-a-yotpo-video-review-earning-rule-on-shopify).

<editor360-custom-block data-preprocessing="true" data-sanitizationtags="thead,strong"><table><thead><tr><th>Setting</th><th>Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>What kind of reward</strong></td><td>Choose either <strong>Points</strong> or <strong>A&nbsp;</strong><strong>coupon</strong></td></tr><tr><td><strong>How many points/Which coupon</strong></td><td>Choose the number of points/which coupon &nbsp;the customer will receive for completing this earning rule</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Video Moderation</strong></td><td>You may choose to reward only videos that you publish on your site</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Time between rewards</strong></td><td>You may choose to set a time limit for how often a customer can receive a reward</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Maximum Times Completed Per User</strong></td><td>You may choose to limit how many times a customer can receive this reward (ever)</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Campaign Name</strong></td><td>As you want it to appear on site</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Reward Text</strong></td><td>As you want it to appear on site</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Description Text</strong></td><td>As you want it to appear on site</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Icon</strong></td><td>Choose your icon as you want it to appear on site</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Eligibility countdown message (days)</strong></td><td>On-site message showing a countdown (in days) until the customer is eligible to get another reward</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Eligibility countdown message (hours)</strong></td><td>On-site message showing a countdown (in hours) until the customer is eligible to get another reward</td></tr></tbody></table></editor360-custom-block>

These settings determine the behavior and functionality of your earning rule, but they are not customer-facing.

<editor360-custom-block data-preprocessing="true" data-sanitizationtags="strong"><ul><li><strong>What kind of reward<br></strong>Choose either <strong>Points</strong> or <strong>A</strong><strong>coupon</strong></li></ul></editor360-custom-block>

**Points**

- **How many points** The number of points the customer will get for completing this earning rule. Learn about [deciding how much points are worth](/v1/docs/deciding-how-much-points-are-worth).

**Coupon**

- **Which coupon** Choose which coupon the customer will get for completing this earning rule. You can choose **from a list of your created coupons.** [How to create coupons](/v1/docs/direct-and-redeemable-coupons-overview)

This reward will be added on top of any other active review earning rule you have running (such as the "Yotpo Review" or "Yotpo Photo Review".)

<editor360-custom-block data-preprocessing="true" data-sanitizationtags="strong"><section class="warningBox"><div class="title">Default: Reward is given per video</div><div class="content"><p>The reward value that you set (either <strong>Points</strong> or <strong>A</strong><strong>coupon</strong>) will be <strong>awarded per video.&nbsp;</strong>However, there are two options to regulate this:</p><ol><li><strong>Time between rewards</strong> setting (below)<br>Adding any waiting period will allow only <strong>one</strong> reward per waiting period</li><li><strong>Video Moderation setting&nbsp;</strong>(below)<br>You may choose to reward only videos that you approve and publish</li></ol></div></section></editor360-custom-block>

- **Video Moderation**
  - **Only reward published videos** - this option will only issue the reward if and when you choose to [publish it in Reviews](/v1/docs/moderating-reviews).
  - **Reward both published and unpublished videos** *-* this option will reward immediately when the customer uploads their videos, regardless of if you ever choose to publish them on your site.

Un-publishing videos

If you decide to un-publish videos, it will not deduct the reward from the customer

- **Time between rewards -** This setting allows you to set a waiting period to **limit how often a customer can receive this reward.**
  - **No limit:** The customer will be given one reward per video uploaded.
  - **Any other waiting period:** The customer will only get one reward per time period, regardless of how many videos they upload. The customer must wait out the specified waiting period and then complete the earning rule again in order to receive another reward.

**Time between rewards FAQ**

- **Q:** I have no time limit set, and a customer uploads 5 videos of the same product on the same review. What will happen? **A: The customer will get 5 rewards*** The same is true if they upload 5 images of different products on different reviews. *Note this also depends on the "video moderation" setting.
- **Q:** I set a time limit of 2 days, and I only reward for published videos. A customer uploads 5 videos at the same time and I publish all of them. How many rewards will they get? **A: One.** Regardless of how many videos are uploaded and published, they will only receive one reward during the set time limit. They must complete the waiting period and complete the earning rule again in order to receive another reward.
- **Q:** I set no time limit and I only reward published videos. A customer uploads 5 videos and I publish 5 of them. How many rewards will they get? **A: Five.** Since there is no waiting period, they will receive one reward for each video you choose to publish.

- **Maximum Times Completed Per User** This is the maximum total number of times a customer can receive this reward

#### Storefront settings

These settings let you control how the earning rule will appear onsite to your customers
