Make it easy for customers to submit photos and videos along with their reviews. You can showcase customer-generated photos and videos from reviews on your site, social pages, and ads to help build confidence in your brand and drive on-site conversions.
In this article, you'll learn how to collect photos and videos from your customers and showcase them in your store.
Review Collection Process Overview
Use the review request email and targeted review requests to generate review content and allow customers to upload photos when submitting their reviews. Customers can also submit their reviews directly on-site using the Reviews Widget.
When writing their review, customers will see the option to add a photo or a video.
You can then moderate reviews and Q&A to select which photos you want to include in reviews.
Tip
Filter reviews by Images / Videos for easier moderation of Visual Reviews.
The published customer photos only appear in the Reviews Widget, Reviews Tab, and Dedicated SEO Page.
Supported Formats
Customer-generated visuals must meet the following upload criteria:

Supported file size: 10 MB or smaller

MPEG-1/2 (MPG, M1V, M2V, MP3)

Supported file size: 2GB or smaller
Supported video length:120min by default
Supported video length can be adjusted from within the Visual Reviews setting page.
Default:10 video uploads per review
To change this default, please reach out to your Yotpo representative.
Limitations
By default, customers may upload up to 3 photos per review and/or 10 videos per review. Please contact your Yotpo representative if you want to collect more than three photos per review.
To upload images and videos via the Reviews Widget, you will need to have the 3.0 Reviews Widget installed on your site. To learn more, see Adding the Reviews Widget 3.0.
Reviews with attached files can't be auto-published. This is to ensure that only appropriate visuals are published on your site. These reviews can be moderated and published through the moderation panel.
Configuring Image and Video Collection
To add image and video collection to your review submission process:
From the Yotpo Reviews main menu, go to Settings > Visual Reviews Settings.
Check the boxes next to the type of media you'd like to collect - photos and/or images. If you've enabled video collection, make sure to designate a maximum video length. Reviewers won't be able to upload videos longer than the video duration you've specified.
Tip
To test if the upload option is available in the review request email after enabling it, please send a test email. To send a test email, follow these steps:
In the Yotpo Reviews main menu, navigate to Emails > Email Setup.
Click on the Review request email card.
Click "Send test" at the top right within the email preview.
Wait for the test email to arrive in your inbox.
Once you receive the test email, open it and submit a test review. You’ll be redirected to the landing page, where you can confirm whether the upload options are displayed.
To display customer-submitted photos or videos in your on-site Reviews Widget, follow these steps:
Log in to your Yotpo admin account.
From the left-side menu, go to Reviews > Moderation.
In the Moderation section, locate the review with attached images or videos. You can use the Sort by filter and select With Images / Videos to easily find all reviews that contain media.
Once you’ve found the review, check the box in the bottom left corner of each image or video you want to publish. This will display the selected media alongside the review on your site.
Note
It may take up to 4 hours for the content to appear live on your site.
