In this article, you'll learn how to connect and manage the Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals integration with Mailchimp and how to use your loyalty data in Mailchimp.

Mailchimp Integration Overview

To connect Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals with Mailchimp, you'll need:

  • An active Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals program.

  • A Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, or Adobe Commerce (Magento) store connected to Mailchimp.

  • A Mailchimp account with Manager-level access or higher.

The integration syncs loyalty data to your Mailchimp audience and makes it available for:

  • Customer journeys based on loyalty events.

  • Audience segmentation.

  • Contact profile personalization.

  • Loyalty activity tracking.

  • Loyalty program analytics.

  4. In your Yotpo Loyalty account, review the access permissions you're granting to the integration, and click Connect.

Note

Initial syncing may take up to a few hours to complete depending on the size of your loyalty program.

Audience Field Limit

The integration syncs 9 loyalty attributes to your Mailchimp audience. Mailchimp audiences have a limit on the number of custom fields available, based on your Mailchimp plan.

If your audience doesn't have enough available fields, you'll see an alert and won't be able to complete the sync.

To resolve this:

  1. Go to your Mailchimp audience fields.

  • Welcome new loyalty members after they join the program.

  • Send a confirmation when customers earn points.

  • Deliver a message after a customer redeems a reward.

  • Celebrate customers when they reach a new tier.

  • Remind customers to use their points before they expire.

To create a journey, use one of the Yotpo loyalty events as the starting point of the journey and configure the remaining steps in Mailchimp.

Creating Loyalty-Based Segments

You can use Yotpo loyalty data in Mailchimp's segment builder to target specific groups of customers.

For example, you can create segments based on:

  • Loyalty status: Target loyalty members or customers who haven't joined the program.

  • VIP tier: Send exclusive offers to customers in specific tiers or encourage customers to reach the next tier.

  • Points balance: Target customers who have enough points to redeem a reward or are close to reaching a reward threshold.

You can combine loyalty criteria with other Mailchimp customer and purchase data to create more targeted audiences.
