Syndication Configuration Guide
- DarkLight
Once you have implemented your syndicated content, Yotpo allows you to configure it according to your needs. Syndication configuration allows you to define permissions and moderation settings for syndicated content.
Before you start
You cannot configure syndicated content until you have uniquely identified and paired products in the source and destination accounts and updated Yotpo with the relevant product identifiers in accordance with the guidelines in our Syndication Implementation Guide.
Activating & configuring syndication
To activate syndication:
- In your Yotpo Reviews main menu, go to Settings > Syndication Settings.
- Check the checkbox to activate syndication.
- Click Save changes.
Both the source and destination must be enabled for syndication to work.
Listed below are all of the settings you can configure through the Yotpo interface.
Name | Description |
---|---|
Source Permissions to Syndicate | For source accounts, choose what to do with outgoing syndicated reviews. |
Syndicate reviews after moderation takes place | Only syndicate reviews that you have already moderated in the source account. |
Syndicate reviews that you have imported | Allow syndication of content that you have already imported to your account. |
Syndicate reviews generated before linking accounts | Allow the syndication of content that existed prior to linking the source and destination accounts. |
Adopt moderation status from source account | Use the same moderation status as the source site (if the source published the review, the destination will also publish it). |
Save changes | Save the configuration |
Disabling Syndication will result in the loss of all product matches, account connections, and settings which will cause syndicated reviews to disappear.
To re-enable Syndication, you will need to reconfigure this feature.
Syndicating review count & average star rating only
There are cases where it may be beneficial to only display the total count and average star-rating of syndicated reviews without displaying the textual review content itself.
For example, if your store collects reviews from multiple localized stores (e.g. English, Spanish, French, German, etc.), displaying the content of syndicated reviews may result in the appearance of reviews in multiple languages.
In such cases, you may opt to only display the review content of reviews from the original domain, and the total count and average star-rating of reviews collected from syndicated stores (e.g. in other languages). This can be applied to product pages, the Reviews Tab, and the SEO Page.

Your store is translated into three languages- English, Spanish, and French. Visitors to your English store will only see reviews submitted through the English site (in English), however, the total reviews count and average star-rating will reflect the aggregated review count and star-rating from all of your syndicated stores.
Visitors to your Spanish site will only see reviews submitted through the Spanish site (in Spanish) and the total reviews count and average star-rating will reflect the aggregated review count and star-rating from all of your syndicated stores.
