Displaying Logos Overview
Make your emails instantly recognizable and build trust with your audience by displaying your brand logo right inside their inboxes. When subscribers see your logo in their inbox, they recognize your brand faster, trust your messages more, and are more likely to engage. Whether you're just getting started with branding or already have a strong identity, adding your logo is a smart way to boost your email performance.
In this article, you’ll learn the three main ways to add your logo to subscriber inboxes, what each method involves, and how you can set them up.
Creating Mailbox Provider Profile Pictures
Create profiles for your brand with mailbox providers that allow you to add profile pictures. Some email providers allow you to create a brand profile that includes your logo. You’ll need to complete the setup separately for each provider.
Here’s where to start:
Note
These logos aren’t guaranteed to show in all inboxes, but they can help personalize your emails where supported.
Using Brand Indicators for Message Identification (BIMI)
BIMI is an email security protocol that lets you show your brand’s logo in your subscribers’ inboxes, once you meet a few key requirements. To get started, check out the official BIMI Implementation Guide for the most current setup instructions. While Yotpo supports BIMI, you'll handle most of the setup and requirements outside the platform.
What You Need to Do
In your DNS Hosting Provider, set your DMARC policy to p=quarantine or p=reject across your domain and subdomains.
Create a logo that meets BIMI's logo requirements.
(Highly recommended by the BIMI Group, but Optional) Get a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) or or a Common Mark Certificate (CMC). Review the BIMI Implementation Guide for more details about these certificates.
Publish a BIMI record for your domain in DNS Hosting Provider
Make sure your domain reputation is strong. Some providers, like Yahoo!, check engagement levels before showing your logo.
Know that BIMI isn’t supported by every mailbox provider.
Important
Don’t renew Entrust BIMI certificates. These are no longer supported.
Already Using BIMI Before Yotpo?
If you’ve already set up BIMI before switching to Yotpo, you’re in good shape. Just keep your DMARC policy at enforcement and make sure you connect your Dedicated Sending Domain in Yotpo before your start sending email.
Adding Your Logo in Apple Mail (Apple Branded Mail)
Apple Branded Mail lets you show your brand name and logo in the Apple Mail app on iOS and macOS. If you want your emails to look more polished for Apple users, this is a great option.
Here's How to Get Started:
In your DNS Hosting Provider, set your DMARC policy to p=quarantine or p=reject, and apply it to 100% of your messages.
Create a logo that meets Apple’s file and design specifications.
Sign up for Apple Business Connect.
Upload your brand assets.
Verify your domain by adding a TXT record in your DNS provider.
Wait up to two weeks for Apple to review and verify.
Note
This feature only works for Apple Mail users on iOS and Mac.
