Goals and Outcomes

With the Yotpo–Bazaarvoice integration, you can syndicate product reviews and visual user-generated content (UGC) to the Bazaarvoice retailer network. This allows you to amplify the impact of your most influential content by seamlessly syndicating Yotpo reviews and visual UGC across your retail channels via the Bazaarvoice Network.

How It Works

This integration syndicates your product reviews from Yotpo to Bazaarvoice.

Here’s how the flow works:

1. A shopper submits a product review through your Yotpo-powered post-purchase emails.

2. The product and its associated reviews are sent to Bazaarvoice for approval, regardless of the moderation status in Yotpo. 

3. Bazaarvoice identifies the product using the GTIN you assigned to it in Yotpo (UPC, EAN, or ISBN). The matching and approval process may take up to 4 weeks, depending on the number of reviews. Learn more about updating GTINs in Yotpo below.

4. Retailers receive the moderated reviews for further approval and publication. Display timelines may vary by retailer.

Note

Each retailer reserves the right to accept and reject reviews based on their own moderation policies. Yotpo does not filter out reviews sent for Retail Syndication, the moderation process is done by Bazaarvoice following each retailer's moderation guidelines. For example, reviews referring to shipping or the original merchant are not accepted due to the lack of relevance to the retail shopper.

Review Locale and Syndication Visibility

When a review is submitted through Yotpo, it is stored in Yotpo’s system along with the reviewer’s locale. This locale is automatically determined based on locale data received from the selling platform, the reviewer’s billing address, or the reviewer’s IP address at the time of submission. All reviews collected via Yotpo are then syndicated to Bazaarvoice.

Important

The visibility of these reviews on Bazaarvoice's network, whether they are published or unpublished, is subject to the specific terms of the merchant’s agreement with Bazaarvoice regarding international review display.

Before You Start

Before you start using Bazaarvoice syndication, you first need to complete the following requirements:

1. Sign a “Disctribution Only“ agreement with Bazaarvoice: To receive a Disctribution Only quote from Bazaarvoice, fill out this form and notify your main point of contact at Yotpo.

2. Add product identifiers to your Yotpo product catalog: Ensure each relevant product in your Yotpo product catalog has a UPC, ISBN, or EAN. To add this information, you’ll need to add custom fields to your catalog. Usually, we’ll pull these details automatically to Yotpo. For platform-specific details, check below:

   1. Shopify: Update the product’s Barcode field with a valid GTIN.

   2. Magento 2: Use the Yotpo Reviews extension to pull product specifications.

   3. Generic: Add the product specs via the API.
