Syndicating Yotpo Product Reviews with Shop App

Automatically syndicate and display your reviews across Yotpo Reviews and Shopify’s Shop app, elevating your store's presence and sales potential with no additional effort.

In this article, you’ll learn how the syndication process works and how it looks on your store.

How it works

The two-way syndication between Yotpo and Shopify is automatically activated for all your existing product reviews and all product reviews submitted from this point on.

If at any point you no longer wish to syndicate reviews across the apps, you can turn off the syndication in either Yotpo Reviews or Shop app.

Yotpo reviews in Shop app

If your store is eligible for Shop, Yotpo product reviews will automatically be displayed for your products in Shop app.

For a review to be displayed, it must fulfill the following requirements:

• Published product review
• Have a Verified Buyer badge. To learn more about Reviewer badges, go to the Reviewer Badges article.
• Meet Shopify’s review policies

Although all reviews are syndicated with Shopify, only published reviews will be visible in the Shop app.

The number of syndicated Yotpo reviews can be found in your Shopify admin under Shop > Reviews.  You will see a Yotpo reviews counter with an up-to-date number of syndicated reviews.

Managing Yotpo Reviews in Shop app

At the top of the Reviews page in Shop, you will see a Yotpo reviews counter showing how many Yotpo reviews were syndicated to Shop. Clicking on the counter will take you to Yotpo’s reviews moderation panel, where only published product reviews will be displayed.

You can also manage the display of syndicated reviews in the Settings tab of the Shop channel.

Shop app reviews in Yotpo

Reviews collected by the Shop app and syndicated to Yotpo will appear in:

• 3.0 on-site widgets. To learn more, see Widgets 3.0 Overview
• Yotpo Reviews Moderation panel
• Reviews dashboard
• Reviews reports

Shop app reviews are marked with a Verified by Shop tag and appear together with the reply you left on the review in Shop app. As Shop app reviews do not include a title, syndicated reviews will appear without a title in the moderation panel and on-site.

All available review management actions can be taken in the Shop app review moderation panel by clicking Manage review in Shop. 

The Verified by Shop tag also appears on-site when the reviews are displayed in Yotpo’s widgets.

Managing Shop reviews in Yotpo

You can control the display of the Shop app reviews in Yotpo’s:

1. In your Yotpo Reviews main menu, go to Reviews > Moderation.
2. Click Setting in the top right corner.
3. Go to Publishing settings.
4. Click the Shop app reviews toggle to hide or display all Shop reviews in Yotpo’s on-site widgets and Reviews account.
