    Tapcart Integration Overview

    Important

    This integration requires Tapcart to be enabled. If Tapcart is disabled, new actions will be unavailable.

    With Tapcart, you can build a native mobile app for your Shopify store, giving your customers a seamless shopping experience on iOS and Android. Tapcart also lets you send push notifications directly to your customers, helping you boost engagement and drive more conversions. By integrating Yotpo SMS & Email with Tapcart, you can incorporate push notifications into your marketing strategy, track performance alongside your email campaigns, and analyze results to optimize customer engagement. This integration gives you the power to create a more cohesive, data-driven marketing approach, adding push notifications to expand your reach, increase conversions, and strengthen customer loyalty.

    Tapcart Integration Basics

    Understanding Push Notifications

    Push notifications are real-time messages that appear directly on a customer’s mobile device, making them a powerful and cost-effective way to engage your audience. Unlike SMS or email, push notifications are free to send and don’t require marketing consent, allowing you to reach more users instantly. They grab attention quickly, drive immediate action, and create a new marketing channel to complement your SMS and email strategies. By integrating Tapcart with Yotpo SMS & Email, you can automate and personalize push notifications based on user behavior, segment audiences for targeted messaging, and track performance—all within a unified platform. This integration helps you boost engagement, increase conversions, and maximize revenue while keeping marketing costs low.

    Connecting Tapcart to Yotpo SMS & Email

    To connect your Tapcart account, you first need to copy your store information from Yotpo. Follow these steps to collect the correct information:

    1. From the Yotpo SMS & Email main page, navigate to Account Settings

    2. In your Yotpo General Settings, locate and copy your App Key

    Next, you will need to generate your API App ID and API key in Tapcart with your Yotpo App Key. Follow these steps to generate the data:

    1. In your Tapcart account, go to the Integration Center, select Yotpo SMS & Email, and paste your  Yotpo App Key to enable Tapcart data access.

    2. This will generate your Tapcart App ID and API Key. Copy them and move back to your Yotpo SMS & Email account.

    Next, navigate from Yotpo SMS & Email home > Integrations and follow these steps:

    1. Search Tapcart in the search bar

    2. Click Connect Tapcart to open the integration wizard

    3. Paste your Tapcart App ID and API Key into the integration wizard

    4. Click Connect

    After connecting your Tapcart account to Yotpo SMS & Email, all consenting app customers will be synced. This process may take up to an hour, after which you can begin segmenting your customer base.

    Understanding Your Tapcart Integration Settings

    You can find your Tapcart settings by navigating to the Integration Center and clicking on the Tapcart integration in the My Integrations list.

    Smart Sending Settings

    You can set the smart sending settings for your push notifications. To learn more about Smart Sending, see our Help Center article.

    Attribution Settings

    You can set the attribution settings for your push notifications. Select from one of the following options:

    • Last delivered or clicked

    • Last clicked

    Both options have a time frame of hours that you must set.

    Note

    The default setting for attribution is 24 hours.

    Staff Devices

    You can set up a device ID as your test device for push notifications. Use Tapcart’s guide to find your device ID.

    Using Push Notifications

    Flows

    To set up a flow, follow the steps below:

    1. In your Yotpo SMS & Email main menu, go to Flows

    2. Click Create flow

    3. Search Tapcart in the search box and choose your trigger from the options below:

      1. Tapcart cart updated: Triggered when the customer adds a product to their cart in Tapcart.

      2. Tapcart Collection viewed: Triggered when a collection is selected.

      3. Tapcart Checkout created: Triggered when the customer creates a checkout by clicking on the Apple Pay button (iOS only) or the checkout button.

      4. Tapcart Product viewed: Triggered when a product is clicked and viewed. The event is not triggered when a product is previewed in a carousel.

      5. Tapcart Purchase completed: Triggered when a customer completes checkout and the purchase is successfully completed.

    4. Add a push notification action step and draft your message

    5. Add any further steps, actions, and conditions until the flow is to your liking

    Designing Push Notifications

    Flows

    After adding a push notification to your flow, you will see the push notification editor open on the left side of your screen. In the editor you can design the content and destination.

    Notification Content

    • Title: the first, bolded line of your notification, can be up to 40 characters

    • Body: the main content of your notification, can be up to 178 characters

    • Personalization tags: you can add the first name, last name, and your site name

    • Image: add an image to your notification, file size must be less than 1 MB, at least 300px wide, and at least 200 px tall

    Destination

    Here you can select the destination your shoppers are sent to when they click on the notification. All but the final two of the following destinations will take your shopper the corresponding page in your store:

    • Home

    • Account

    • Cart

    • Search

    • Collections

    • Wishlist

    • Orders

    • Settings

    • Custom Screen

    • Custom URL

    Analytics

    Revenue Analytics

    From the Yotpo SMS & Email main page, go to Analytics > Revenue Analytics to view your data. In your Revenue Analytics, filter by Push to see your main metrics:

    • Revenue

    • Orders

    You can view your revenue sources:

    • Sent/Delivered

    • Revenue

    You can view your revenue attribution sources:

    • Push delivered

    • Push clicked

    You can view your revenue growth chart.

    Flow Analytics

    From the Yotpo SMS & Email main page, go to Analytics > Flow Analytics to view your data. In your Flow Analytics, your main metrics will include the following with your Push data:

    • Revenue

    • Orders

    • AOV

    • Sent Messages

    You can view your Performance over time with your Push data.

    You can view your individual flow analytics with your Push data in the main Flows Analytics dashboard.
