Goals and Outcomes

Integrate Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals with Google to extend your loyalty program visibility directly into Google Search and Shopping experiences.

With this integration, eligible shoppers can discover loyalty benefits earlier in their buying journey through personalized experiences surfaced directly within Google product discovery flows.

Use the integration to:

  • Surface loyalty rewards and member benefits directly in Google experiences

  • Display personalized member pricing for eligible shoppers

  • Increase visibility into your loyalty program before shoppers reach your store

  • Drive more qualified traffic and engagement from loyalty members

  • Automatically sync loyalty program updates from Yotpo to Google

In this article, you’ll learn how to connect Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals with Google and understand how loyalty experiences appear across Google surfaces.

Already using the Loyalty add-on in the Google Merchant Center?

  • If you’re already using Google Merchant Center’s native loyalty functionality, you can still integrate Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals with Google. The Yotpo integration adds customer-level personalization and automatic syncing of loyalty information from Yotpo.

  • If both the integration and loyalty add-on are used, loyalty data synced from Yotpo will override loyalty information configured manually through Google Merchant Center. For more information about Google Merchant Center loyalty programs, see Google’s documentation.

Who’s Eligible to Use the Integration

The Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals x Google integration is currently available only to stores that meet the following criteria:

Merchant Requirements

  • Sell to customers in the United States

    Note

Merchants that also sell internationally can still use the integration, but the loyalty experience is currently only available to U.S. shoppers.

  • Have an active loyalty program with supported reward configurations

  • Have a Google Merchant Center account

Reward Requirements

Supported reward types:

  • Fixed amount rewards

  • Percentage-based rewards

If your loyalty program setup includes unsupported reward types, you can still use the integration. Only eligible rewards will be synced to Google.

Rewards must:

  • Be available for online purchases

  • Apply to all products (Any product rewards only)

  • Not be restricted to specific products, variants,  collections, or segments

Note

To verify a reward is eligible, open its settings and ensure it’s available for online purchases.

Any product discount and purchase from settings in the Yotpo admin

VIP/Loyalty Tier Requirements

Supported configurations:

  • Legacy VIP tiers and the new Loyalty Tiers

  • Stores not using a VIP or Loyalty Tier program

  • Points earned and Number of purchases tier entry criteria with all tier terms (Calendar year, Rolling year, Lifetime)

  • Amount spent tier entry with tier term set to Calendar year or Rolling year

Unsupported configurations:

  • Amount spent tier entry with tier term set to Lifetime

  • Tier entry criteria based on customer tags or other non-spend-based qualification methods.

Integration Overview

How It Works

The integration allows Google to surface loyalty experiences directly within supported Google product discovery channels, including:

  • Google Search (organic search only)

  • Google Shopping

  • AI Mode

  • Gemini conversations

This happens by syncing loyalty programs and customer eligibility data from Yotpo to Google, which allows Google to display relevant loyalty benefits and member-exclusive pricing to recognized loyalty members.

Information Shared in the Integration

Yotpo pushes two types of information to Google:

Loyalty Program Information

It includes details about your loyalty program setup, such as:

  • Available rewards

  • VIP/Loyalty tier name

  • Tier benefits and rules (e.g., term, threshold type)

  • Points for purchase earning rules

  • Signup URLs (By default, it’s the link to your store’s Rewards Page, but you can change it in Google Merchant Center)

  • Store country

This allows Google to understand the structure of your loyalty program and display relevant loyalty messaging within Google surfaces to eligible shoppers.

Customer Eligibility Information

Yotpo also securely shares customer information tied to individual shoppers, including:

  • Customer email address

  • Current VIP/Loyalty tier

  • Current points balance

Google uses this information, together with your program configuration, to determine which loyalty rewards and benefits a shopper is eligible to receive.

What Shoppers See

The displayed loyalty experience depends on whether Google recognizes the shopper as an eligible loyalty member. To determine eligibility, Google uses the shopper’s email address to match their Google account with their loyalty profile in your store.

For shoppers to see personalized loyalty rewards and benefits, they must use the same email address for both accounts.

Logged-in loyalty members

Eligible shoppers logged into Google using the same email address associated with their store account/profile may see:

  • Loyalty rewards they’re eligible to redeem

  • Member-exclusive pricing

All Shoppers

All shoppers may see general loyalty program information within the brand profile, including:

  • Available loyalty tiers

  • Benefits per tier

  • General loyalty program details

Important

General site-wide promotions override loyalty pricing. If you have an unrestricted site-wide promotion with no minimum spend or audience requirement, the site-wide promotion will appear instead of loyalty member pricing.

Logged-out shoppers or non-members

Shoppers who are not logged into Google, use a different email address, or are not recognized as loyalty members will not see personalized loyalty experiences.

These shoppers may still see general loyalty program information within the brand profile.

Managing Your Loyalty Program Messaging in Yotpo

Customization fields, Google integration

After connecting Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals to Google, you can optionally customize how your loyalty program is presented to shoppers directly from the Google integration page in your Yotpo Loyalty admin.

These settings let you manage your loyalty program messaging in one place, while Google Merchant Center displays the synchronized information.

You can customize the following fields:

Loyalty program name

The name of your loyalty program, which may appear in your Google brand profile.

Loyalty sign-up URL

The URL shoppers are directed to when they want to learn more about your loyalty program or join it. This link appears in the loyalty section of your Google brand profile and can be used to direct non-members to your enrollment page.

By default, Yotpo uses the following URL:

<your-merchant-domain>/pages/rewards

If your loyalty program uses a different enrollment or rewards page, update this URL to ensure shoppers are directed to the correct destination.

Loyalty program CTA

A short description of how members earn points.

Program-level benefits

Program-level benefit fields

Note

These fields will only appear if you don’t have an active Loyalty Tiers program.

A short description of a benefit that applies to all loyalty members, regardless of their tier. This messaging appears in the mobile loyalty experience within your Google brand profile.

For example:

  • Shop and earn loyalty rewards

  • Earn 1 point for every $1 spent

  • Earn points on every purchase

Yotpo can generate a default description based on your loyalty program’s earning rules. You can customize the wording to reflect your brand’s voice better and communicate the value of your program to shoppers.

Tier benefits

Tier benefits fields

Note

Descriptions of the benefits associated with individual tiers. These appear in your Google brand profile and help shoppers understand each tier’s perks and the value of progressing through your program.

You can customize the messaging for each tier, including benefits that aren't managed directly in your Yotpo admin.

For example:

  • Earn 2 points for every $1 spent

  • Free shipping

  • Birthday rewards

  • Early access to new products

Use these fields to highlight relevant tier benefits and keep the messaging consistent across your website and Google.

Note

Customizing these fields is optional. You can use the default values provided by Yotpo or update them to better match your loyalty program setup and brand messaging.
