        Consumers are increasingly demanding that brands use their power to make a difference. When you integrate with ShoppingGives you can let customers redeem their points for a donation to charity, showing you are a purpose-driven brand.


        This article will show you how to set up the option to redeem points for a donation. In addition to letting customers donate their points to charity, you also have another option to donate a percentage on the customer's behalf every time they shop. See how to Set up a Donations Campaign.

        Before you begin

        You need to complete the ShoppingGives integration setup.

        Create a donation redemption option

        In your Loyalty & Referral admin:

        1. From the Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals main menu, go to  Rewards > Redeeming Points.
        2. Click Create a New Coupon.
        3. For coupon type Choose Donation. This option will only appear if you have the Shopping Gives integration set up.
        4. Finish creating your coupon according to the settings you want. For more information, see this guide about creating a coupon.

        Implement your donation option on-site

        If you don't have a Redeem points Module yet, read here how to create one.

        If you already have a Redeem Points Interactive Module, add the donation option to your module in the layout section. In the module editor, you will be able to customize all the texts for the donation process.

        Here is an example of how the flow may look in your module:When a customer clicks on the donate button, a popup will appear with your featured causes or option to select a cause. Which causes appear here are controlled in your ShoppingGives account. See this ShoppingGives’ guide for more information.

        Email notifications

        If you are using a third-party Email Service Provider (ESP) you can trigger an email to be sent every time a customer redeems points for a donation.

        Trigger a donation email through your ESP by using the event called "Loyalty Donation Created" as the email trigger. See an example of how to do this on Klaviyo, or see a list of which email service providers are supported.

        That's it, your customers can now redeem their points for a charitable donation.
