Customers can redeem the points they’ve earned in exchange for redeemable rewards (previously Redeemable Coupons) such as discounts, free shipping, free products, etc.
Create several redeemable reward options for customers to choose from to increase their purchase frequency and engagement with your loyalty program. This article will give you an overview of the different ways your customers can redeem their points for rewards as part of your rewards program.

Shopify and Shopify Plus. For other eCommerce platforms, refer to this article
Reward types
There are various types of redeemable rewards to choose from depending on your eCommerce platform.
- Fixed Amount Cash Discount - With the Cash Discount reward you can create a set of predefined fixed amount discounts based on the points value system that you define. This option is available for Shopify and Shopify Plus merchants on all Loyalty & Referrals plans.
- Any Amount Cash Discount - With the Cash Discount reward you can create a set of predefined fixed amount discounts, or allow customers to redeem any amount of points in exchange for their desired discount at checkout
Any amount cash discounts are available for:
- Shopify Plus only
- Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals Gold, Platinum, and Enterprise plans
- Percentage Discount (available on Platinum and Enterprise plans)- Offer customers a set percentage off their purchase
- Custom Coupon(available on Platinum and Enterprise plans) - Use a Custom Coupon to create rewards that will be applied on a platform that does not directly integrate with Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals
- Free Shipping (available on Platinum and Enterprise plans) - Offer customers free shipping on their purchase
- Free Product (available on Platinum and Enterprise plans) - Customers can redeem their points for a free product. To implement the Free Product reward option, you need to use the Free Product Redemption Module.
- Custom Reward (available on Enterprise plan)- Use a Custom Reward to offer your customers unique experiences, donations to charities, raffle entries and more
- Cart fixed amount (available on Enterprise plan) - Create fixed amount discounts that your customers can redeem directly on the cart page right before they check out. This reward is script-based, which means the customer doesn’t have to manually copy and paste the reward code on the cart page since it will automatically apply at checkout.
Please note:
Cart fixed amount is commonly used for stacking rewards at the point of checkout.
Managing your redeemable rewards
Use the main table in the Redeemable Rewards page of your Loyalty & Referrals admin to view and manage your redeemable rewards in one place.
To access the redeemable rewards table:
- Log in to your Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals admin.
- From the main menu, go to the Set Up Program > Rewards Program.
- Click Manage rewards.
The redeemable rewards table provides basic information about each of the redeemable rewards you’ve created.
| Column name | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | Reward names are meant to differentiate one reward from another, specifically when it comes to rewards of the same type. Most reward names are dynamic and are automatically populated based on the main settings selected during the creation of the reward. Some are also editable. |
| Reward Type | The type of reward created. |
| Cost in Points | The number of points customers need to redeem for this reward. |
| Rewards Redeemed | The number of times this reward was redeemed by customers in your store. Specifically for fixed amount Cash Discounts, hover over the tooltip to view the breakdown by discount amount. |
Creating a new redeemable reward
The option to add more rewards to your program is available for merchants on Platinum and Enterprise plans.
To create a new redeemable reward, do the following:
- From the main menu on the left, click Set Up Program > Rewards Program.
- Click Create reward.
- Use the drop-down menu to select a Reward type.
- Based on the reward type you selected, fill out the relevant settings inside the reward page.
- When finished, save your reward.
